SYD Industrial Action

Currently sitting on a plane in SYD, already an hour delayed. Being told that air traffic control industrial action is leading to another 40 minute delay.

Haven’t seen any news or discussion on this, anyone know what’s going on?

Departure delays due operational restrictions, probably staff related. There is a bit of unrest between the historical union responsible for ATC - Civil Air and the TWU, with controllers being given the right to join the TWU via a court, but that is unlikely to be reflected in strike action.
