I am travelling on BA F (QFF award) and my wife is travelling SQ Y can I guest her into flounge?

According to QF website - lounge access for pax in F
First customer and 1 guest can access lounge on day of departure when travelling on a QF or BA flight number.

I am unsure if the above applies to the pax in F or the guest

Re: Syd Flougne guest access

Is your wife    for flying in Y as you enjoy F? ;)

Re: Syd Flougne guest access

I thought the guest must be travelling with (i.e. on the same flight number) as the eligible pax but they don't specify that whereas they do for other eligible people:

QF WP access to the F lounge: Member and 1 guest can access the lounge when travelling on a Qantas, Jetstar or oneworld flight.# Guest must be travelling with member.

Re: Syd Flougne guest access

Not sure how your wife is so understanding, but since you're flying BA, and not QF:

International First oneworld customers
First customer and 1 guest can access lounge on day of departure of a oneworld flight.#

# next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld Airline Members operated and marketed flight.Note: a oneworld marketed flight refers to a flight with a oneworld flight number, eg QF1 or AA222. A oneworld operated flight refers to the actual aircraft or 'metal' on which you fly, eg Finnair aircraft.

Not sure if the guest has to be flying oneworld or not. I think some others here have gotten into F lounge as a guest with a WP, flying on another airline.

Interesting; it's specific about status based access (WP/Emerald), not about First Class based access.

i.e.
  • WP:
Member and 1 guest can access the lounge when travelling on a Qantas, Jetstar or oneworld flight.# Guest must be travelling with member.
    ...
  • Emerald:
Member and 1 guest can access lounge on day of departure of a oneworld flight.#

  • First Class PAX:
First customer and 1 guest can access lounge on day of departure when travelling on a QF or BA flight number.
However, I believe the guest may need to be "travelling on a QF or BA flight number" as well as the First PAX -there is nothing to disassociate the Guest from that provision.

I guess they would generally be more lenient for First class PAX than those with high status travelling in a lesser class.

Maybe you could call them and ask: Ph: 61 (2) 9691 6040 - politely get the name of the person you speak to.

Re: Syd Flougne guest access

Thanks Serfty...

I called that number and was put through to the flounge dragon (greg). According to him the guest should also be travelling on the same flight.

can someone tell my wife that while she is waiting in the gate lounge, I'll be sipping champers in the flounge

Do you know a VERY good divorce lawyer?

Just be wary that when you reach the FLounge there may be some legal documents waiting to be served upon you, like divorce papers and property settlement. Just kidding mate  ;)

Anyway enjoy the flight on BA F.

Re: Syd Flougne guest access

Or

Happy wife, happy life...! :) Don't forget that.
No wife, even happier life....! :) Remember that not every man has to go through life being miserable....

I would have to say either you have the worlds most understanding wife, you are the luckiest man alive, or those ladies i have heard about in certain *ahem* "health" magazines actually exist. Either way - i wouldn't push your luck.... I'd be quite happy to spend time at the departure gate and have the wife in the F lounge personally!
