SYD FCL Flight display board inoperative

Frankfurt airport - FRA
This is a "that's not a knife" scenario
That is massive.

One benefit of the "clickety clack" is that the sound grabs your attention to check for the change. TV/digital screens do not have that prompt. Ive been caught out on one occasion at LAX Admirals when it changed and I was not paying attention.

Can't be that common an occurrence or they would already have installed a screen, or have a spare tv ready to plugin
Im surprised it has not been enhanced by management - yet.

There’s a red rope to try and keep peeps from touching it…but that’s probably an invitation to unsupervised children to want to touch it…

I would not be surprised it is due to unsupervised adults TBH. Ive seen it in museums for example.
These boards are usually out of reach in normal circumstances so can envisage people wanting to touch them.

Perhaps Qantas need to add a new item for sale in their Qantas Marketplace, i.e. pay points to repair the mechanical flight display board. Such options to purchase are, of course, only open to those who break the aforementioned display.

Love it! But significantly less so at its current $5999 price point  That's multiple visits to the F Lounge where I can otherwise get my flight display board "fix" ;)

They can get boring pretty quickly ...

Why on earth do the f lounges stick with these ancient displays?
That's kind of the whole point - it's retro. They aren't actually 40 years old. Most people love it.

Hard disagree with this one sorry. These are arguably the coolest display screens of any airport

I'm firmly in the camp of liking those displays. They very much remind me of my earliest experiences of air travel.

I love the analog board - it is very retro and really makes me feel nostalgic when I hear it click clacking into place. That used to be a very common sound in the airports in my youth.

Seems like I'm not alone in that.
