Does anyone know if SQ212 Aircraft type: (Boeing 777-300ER) is worth redeeming first class over business class?
SYD- SIN

yes, it's worth it. F is a marked step up from J. day or night dun really matter. if you have the points, this is a good use for them.

Help please :)

I received SMs that waitlist cleared for flights next week. I logged on to my account via iPad app and both flights show available but I can't see how to confirm them. I then logged on via Safari (via iPad) to desktop site and it only shows first flight available and the connecting flight as waitlisted.

Re-reading sms/email, it does only say FRA-SIN flight without reference to SIN-MEL flight. As stated previously, both flights show available on app.

Any advice as to what to do here?

Thks.

Yep, calling them would be easiest. They're pretty good to deal with compared to a lot of call centres. ;)

Looking forward to SYD-ZRH in suites come October. I like suites on day flights, give you the best oppertunity to take in the whole experience and try the fantastic food and drink on offer.

Strange observation but maybe someone here has seen it before.

SQ F redemption

EF confirmed vacancies +++ on all sectors (from A to B via C)

But redemption requests stated that no F is "available" with no waitlisting option whatsoever.

Yes, I had tried sector by sector booking but no, the reply is the same "F is not available". There is no waitlisting option for either sector.

I have seen waitlisting from day 1 (T-350) on many occasions but have not seen "not available" from day 1 when EF showed 100% vacancy [the odd of paying pax fully occupying all seats on T-350 is rather slim, I'd guess).

Is there something I had missed ?

Is that "new" ?

It can be that one of the aircraft operating one leg does not have suites. I came across this when looking at coming back from Europe in the A350. The one operating from Dusseldorf did not have first class let alone suites. Only looking at the actual plane's seat map showed me the answer.

So, check what planes are involved. If A380s then it may be odd, if B777 or A350 it may just be as I described above.

What is the destination. Wouldn't be MUC by chance would it?

As indicated, EF showed (a) presence of F seats on all sectors and (2) they are all empty @ T-340s.

The 'not available' error message is at odds with EF info. The likelihood of paying pax in F at T-340s is marginally slim.

Yes, it showed the same error when I tried sector by sector just for the sake of testing.

Normally, you would see one of the followings: (1) available for redemption, (2) Waitlisted and then (3) 'not available' in Saver while showing the presence of F redemption at Standard Rate.

In this case, SQ info is completely at odds with EF.

Maybe EF is at fault here ?

Probably just a case of award inventory not uploaded for whatever reason - a call to KF should answer your query.

Based on Cruiser's advice that the chocos are thrown out if not eaten by the end of the flight, I verified this with the wonderful Natalie in suites SIN-LHR (who was the beneficiary of my unwanted perfumes), which she verified and so I got off with all the Toblerones. :D

When selecting F as a commercial ticket, all sectors are available.

It appears they have blocked all F (saver + standard) on this route .

I wonder how a CSA could unblock that.

I think you may find the route is going to be changed to A350 so no F in late 2016. MXP will become a soul destination as happened to MUC last week with the announcement of a new route SIN MAN IAH. The MUC route will be served by A350 so no F.
SIN BCN GRU will become the new route for A350 or 77W.
Obviously nothing is set in concrete yet as the announcement is yet to be made

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

But then, commercial F tickets are available effectively ruling out the A350 theory.

Called up, I was told of a variety of possibilities:

..... not yet loaded

.... someone else had snapped up [unlikely as I had tried on the dot on T-350]

.... very scarce

In other words, the CSA was unaware of anything specific.

The absence of standard F redemption is very weird.

Are you looking for a specific date? Have you checked other days? Rdpt booking is not an exact science as we all know - I know it is frustrating but you are going to have to deal with the circumstances in front of you - I would keep following regularly and keep calling - tell me exactly which dates you require and I will see if I can get someone to look at it for you.

Oh and I should have added just cause they are still selling F does not mean F will be on that metal on that day - don't forget the 350 taking over the AMS route.

Got an email about my seats being changed on the SIN-LHR leg for a flight May next year. Looks like they have changed the aircraft from A380 to 777. Obviously want to fly Suites not First. Is this something that normally happens and the aircraft will revert back over time or something I should be proactive about now?
