I'm relatively new to this forum and the reward point schemes but i look forward to the day i get to give suites a test run (many many many KF points away).

Fiancee was a FA for SQ (met through several close friends who are currently FA's with SQ) so would love to surprise her later on with one of these flights!

Will continue trawling these forums for ways to accrue more for less :)

OK 06:20 arr how many in TPR when you walked in?

Standard sequence for TPR visit?
1. Enter TPR and find a seat
2. Go take shower
3. Find nice table in restaurant for brekky
4. When wait staff approach you with menu you momentarily think to yourself - 'It's only 7am - should I have a Dom or not?' - after like 1.5secs consideration you arrive at conclusion - HELL YEAH!

Sorry for not replying, we only made it halfway through dessert before being told we had to leave for the plane.

Pretty much spot on, although at step 4, I think it was about 7.15 before we started with the Dom because we had a coffee to wake up first :)

At T-13 days until Mrs Albatross & I board for our Suites journey to Europe...should I be looking forward to this? I've booked 3C & D for all sectors over and back. Any experiences?

Yes multitudes - you have booked the PERFECT pair of suites for a couple - now to allocate between partners - if you are LHD - 3C for you - if you are RHD - 3 D - do not tell the little woman why you selected your seat and she will be none the wiser.

Both of yopu enjoy the whole experience Alby - I am sure you will.

Yes Alby, you should be excited :)
Just arrived in LHR a short while ago on our first suites experience. What can I say other than wow. Was better than I had even anticipated; our FA seemed like she could read our mind (my champagne topped up before it got empty, changing to a new glass when I wanted to try the Krug after the Dom so as to not have any of it mixed. When my wife woke up she was looking at menu saying she was thinking of ordering a snack, our FA appeared at that moment and asked if she'd like any snacks). When I declined a further top up of
Champagne towards the latter part of the flight she said "we are trying to get you drunk and very happy!" Haha.

Loved the food (BTC lobster), movies, bed and most of all service. You're in for a treat!

Thanks for the feedback. We are so looking forward to it. Even pre-positioning from BNE to MEL via a QF J redemption so that we get the full experience.

Tsk tsk. The Full Experience would mean prepositioning to SYD to try the new F SKL, and benefit from the extra 1 hour in Suites to SIN. :p
Enjoy! I'm not sure that the rose petals are still loaded though. :D

I tried and tried for the seats out of SYD. Couldn't be done on the dates I was needing. But you have reminded me just to have a look to see if anything has happened and there is late availability.

I agree with everything you mentioned.

.... should I try out CX F or just stay with what we all know ???

Has anyone here done the double (SQ / CX F) and care to share your thoughts ?

This blog with its photos is not exactly appealing.

Nice, comfortable but ??? same / better than SQ I am not so sure

Thanks

any suggestions for this scenario?

waitlist DEL-(SIN)-SYD for 2 pax. SIN-SYD leg has now confirmed in Suites, however DEL-SIN leg is still on waitlist, despite being open for booking at saver rate online. unfortunately i don't have enough points to book the seats as 2 separate one-way legs (about 10k miles short). Call centre lady was unable to explain why the DEL-SIN leg had not cleared despite the online availability. suspected potentially there were other people higher on the waitlist than us (doesn't make sense to me). further reference point, the DEL-SIN flight is available on LM.

we have confirmed flights from DEL-SYD via BKK on TG J (via LM) but the missus is keen on suites after seeing my trip from a few weeks back, (and i guess who wouldn't be with that double bed and french champagne!)

options i see as:
1. hold out and see if the waitlist clears
2. book DEL-SIN through LM, and ticket SIN-SYD through SQ
3. buy the additional SQ miles through the purchase

i'm not sure of the overall price differential between 2 & 3 - i guess something to put on the after work list.

I have had a suite saver award booking for my wife and myself for October this year from SYD to HKG via SIN. I planned well in advance since it is our twenty fifth wedding anniversary and even
managed to get 3C and 3D on all four legs (after following advice from this thread:)). A few minutes ago I got an email from AwardWallet saying that my seats had been changed to 1C and 1D on flights SQ222 (going) and SQ231 (on the return).
Of course I was not exactly thrilled so went on the site to change them back. Now for the real shock, even though the flights were still showing A380 the seat maps for both flights
to and from SIN are for the 777-300ER.

Probably not too much that I can do as I am locked into these dates, Qantas Red E Deal flights from ROK-BNE-SYD to catch the flight, non refundable hotel bookings, cheap flights on Air China etc.
Is it likely to get changed back? What a dissapointment.:(

What a bummer Chimpy - what a bummer - hoping there is a reversal for you but wouldn't hold my breath - what a bummer.

Yes, disappointing. But it is still in F on SQ so by the time you've booked the cook for the lobster thermidor and downed a couple of bottles of Krug the pain will have eased somewhat.

Chimpy I know it is no consolation be we have similar situation in Jun / Jul - we had Suites booked MEL-SIN-LHR but the SIN-LHR leg subbed to new 77W - the palatable thing here is it is new 77W with new F - haven't experienced that yet - and yes booking still shows metal as 388 but seat map 77W.

BUT - Suites are Suites - and F is F - make no mistake about that - Chimpy is other half totally aware of situation or was it to be a surprise?

I have just told her about the change, she took it better than me. At least we still get a short flight from SIN to HKG return. It is also be a lot better than what we are used to (J in A330 from BNE.):)

After a lot of thought I phoned SQ this morning. I am trying to catch the earlier flight (SQ221) back from SIN to SYD. There are no award seats available for two people at this stage but they have put me on the waitlist. It will mean no TPR and quite a long time in Sydney before my flights home but it should be worth it.
