The moral of the story, if no J savers available on the route your looking at check the F saver before you book J standard fare!
Indeed. On a number of routes when I have looked it is often easier to get Saver F than J.
It was certainly the case when I booked 2 Saver Suites to Zurich for Easter 2014.

OMG - I get so warm and fuzzy inside just feeling the glee oozing out of every pore in your skin Danger - I just love it.

Yep seat selection a no brainer - RHDer -> 3C - LHDer -> 3D - IMHO of course.

Have Suites booked MEL-SIN-ZRH Aug 26 - ret FRA-SIN-MEL Sep 01 - then QF F MEL-LAX Sep 12 / Sep 22 - going to be interesting period being able to compare SQ Suite to QF F so closely back to back - but I digress.

Yes Cruiser 3C and D is already locked in after doing a bit of research from previous discussion in this thread. Any one any particular preferences between row 1 and 2 on the 77W. I will be mainly asleep on that leg and I have read row 2 is probably the preference as it does not have the foot well in the seat in bed mode . Row 1 has the foot well from row 2 next to your head limiting space (similar to the J cabin). Any thoughts anyone?
Cheers Danger UXB

Last time I slept in 3A and dined and watched movies in 3F (if that is the number for the other window seat).
I am not that mechanical to figure how to re-set the seat from a bed so I use 2 Suites and no one minds because I ask nicely.

Have a suite saver on SQ 232 on 15/8/13 to SIN and wait listed to CDG and FRA in F both as Suite Savers. Have confimnred booking to CDG in J but fingers crossed. Can others share some experience if waitlist may claer and when's the cutoff before fight time? Tks

Couple more points about 2C/D

1. I always BYO IFE - sitting in 2C if 2D vacant I can use 2D table to continue watching movie or whatever I am watching right through meal service

2. I am a RHDer :)

NOTE: Whether you are in Suites or Std F on SQ - be aware that the SQ meal service in F can be very rushed - don't be backward in just saying 'whoa there honey - slow it down - 5 / 10 mins between every course pls'. I do this regularly and it allows you to seriously savour the fare and beverages.

I just did a Saver plus a Standard so we are on the same flights as usual. Overall it costs a bit less than 200,000 Kris miles to travel together for the complete run SIN -NRT-LAX and return.

F or J cove? 200K ea?

That was for A380 Suites Cruiser Elite. It costs about 200,000 miles extra to do the return trip together and both Saver and Standard points Suites are a bargain.
Mrscove has had a health issue this year so on longhaul flights I think it is wiser to be together.

I still have two and a half years to use up all the Citi points that I transferred to Kris flyer when Citi misbehaved. I don't think any of these points will expire through not being used in three years.
Now that the dust has settled I am warehousing future points for Kris in Citi and Westpac Altitude Black.

The fact that service is prompt doesn't mean you have to rush eating it though surely (unless they stand around and watch you)?

It was 87125 extra to go Standard for one and Saver for the other on the run to LAX from SIN. Multiply that by two for the A380 Suites return (269,875 each way for two doing it this way. The charges for redemption totalled $682.12USD for the two of us to go one way. Obviously grabbing a Saver Suite for 91,375 Kris miles is very exciting and I put the US dollar charge back on Citi Select for about 2,600 points back to Kris miles.

YES the heads do pop around curtain continually to watch if you are done - but gun not held at your head to eat quickly.

Finish one course - next is plonked down in like no time. Efficient - YES / prompt - YES / a little too quick for my liking - YES - YMMV - I was just expressing my personal thoughts - I just politely and smilingly tell them - at least 5 mins between each course - 10 is better - again my personal preference.

Sorry cove I am as thick as 2 short planks - gotcha now - 200K extra - read it as 200K ea ret - my apologies for wasting bandwidth.

Last sector of suites just came through from waitlist.

SYD/SIN/CDG on 15/8/13 then connecting on LH to FRA and Croatian to SPU for 2 weeks sailing. Bring it on!!

Back from SPU to ZAG then LHR

On suites from LHR SIN SYD

Have done QF MH, Thai and EK A380 F in last 12 months as well as EY suites on 777ER

Really looking forward to SG. Maybe will try to switch to LH A380 F via F Class terminal in FRA if seats become available on way home.

All points booking via WBC Altitude.

Can't wait to escape Sydney winter ( well it was only 25 degrees today ;) )

PS Have chosen Book the Cook, but what Champs are they currently serving in suites???

Quick Q if you don't mind. I've booked plenty of suites before and have been lucky enough to book enough in advance to snap up tickets without waitlisting.
A month ago I waitlisted SYD-SIN-ZRH for mid September. Do I need to call up SQ and push for release or is it just pot luck a few weeks in advance?

Cheers

The easy question /answer is the champagne in Suites.....there are two namely Krug and Dom Perignon.

Have never wait listed but I have called and found very helpful staff on 02 93500203.
They have visibility of the seats taken on your wait listed flight.
I have been doing one Saver and one Standard on my flights to London and Los Angeles instead of being held in limbo.
