It is a strong rumour that some plats-those that stay at least 50 nights-will get 10 confirmed suite nights per year.
Apparently an FTer caught a page on spg.com since taken down-
FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - Suite Nights Introduced

however recently Starwood have trademarked the name-Suite Nights Awards-
SUITE NIGHTS AWARDS - Reviews & Brand Information - PREFERRED GUEST, INC. White Plains, NY - Serial Number: 85442332

And on twitter @spginsider says they are working on spg.com this weekend.

now as one who qualifies on nights this will be good-useful at places that usually do not give me a suite upgrade eg SOTP in Sydney.

So a bit each way ... a little like HHonors have done recently.

All in all, some real incentives are there - certainly should "set the cat amongst the pigeons".

Thanks for the update drron, I will look at the program changes more closely in the next few days to see how this may or may not benefit me.
