Just installed the iPhone app and looked for something I have wished for when browsing the long threads in the various "I'm in the xx lounge" forums. The search feature isn't finding me a lounge guest thread that is current.
I am often in the SYD VA lounge on Thursdays around 3 pm and can guest, but I'm not going to post repeated announcements in the Velocity forum. I don't want to post my phone number either.
But I'd be happy to turn on an option in the app that always detected my proximity to SYD and made me contactable to anyone searching for a "guester" in a particular lounge. Perhaps the contact could be made through the app with some way to identify oneself before the anonymised guester replied Yes/No through the app?
I have never flown F or been in an F lounge, so my international trips are 3-4 a year at best, but it would be nice on one of those occasions to look for someone willing to guest me - here I could use such a feature to scan for another opted-in AFFer.
I don't know how complex or doable this is, but a wish.
The same concept could be extended to AFF or FT meetups, even if they occurred in an off-arport situation.
