1. Called earlier this evening. CSR's reply? "You can book these online. There's only Classic awards, which book into Uniform class, or there's Points + Pay." Sigh... HUACA...

2. 3 hours later...My initial request was met with 10 sec of silence. Followed the suggested spiel, CSR seemed unsure, so I also indicated that I wished to make a booking that earned SC. Put on hold for 5 min. Offered minimum of 86 418 points. "Your'e after an Any Seat Award in Uniform class? That's the minimum." I had to gently push, but wasn't until I nominated 48 000 pts & a higher co-pay that the declared "minimum" was able to be brought down to the expected level. Suggested ROQ7740: "Yes, I'm looking at that." I somewhat sensed the process was tedious & frustrating for the CSR, who was also aware the ability to book JASAs online had been removed. Nevertheless, CSR was polite & helpful. (Total call time: ~20min vs <5 min online pre-June 2013; Would call times be of interest to anybody in the reference guide?)

Like those before me, I'd also just like to add my sincere thanks for everybody's generous contributions to the forum, particularly this & the other 2 associated threads.

My first of these since they became unavailable online. I was expecting the worst, but the experience was fantastic. CSR very friendly, knew exactly what I wanted to do, and all done in 4 mins!

I booked 2 of these on separate dates to take advantage of the DSC offer. First time I've booked since the online option was removed. The process was fairly painless - initially the CSR was confused as to why I would want to only spend 40 mins in HBA. "We know about you people and your points" was her response when I explained! She had to put me on hold to check things a few times and tried to charge 2500 points as a booking fee which then changed to $35 before being waived. No CC fee charged either. Took about 40 mins all up.

First one of these, it was a bit of a process on the phone (45 minutes). I was asked at one stage whether I worked for Qantas as due to the operator saying I was not supposed to book flights this way.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site as these flights will get me to platinum. Something I thought I would never get near.

Spoke to Rada, who immediately responded with "So you want to book a marginal ASA" when I spoke the magic words outlined in this post. Smooth sailing from there, probably took less than five minutes.

Thumbs up to Rada. Thumbs down to QF for not letting me do this online.

Have to do another one in the next 24hrs to take advantage of the January DSC and ensure I requalify for WP. Will report tomorrow.

I am going to try to get this into the right format for you (I hope)

Needed to be booked as 2 trips, first being SYD-TSV return, the second TSV-KTA

Is over a total of 3 days, I have an overnight in Perth on day 1, and an overnight in Brisbane for day 2, home in the afternoon of Day 3 to drag myself into bed and sleep.. going to be some long days, but it will get me to LTG before my June 30 renewal and the first time I have taken advantage of a DSC
