Took less than 5 minutes, operator stated "oh yes I think these will be going for good soon". I usually take such comments with a grain of salt as they're usually wrong.

After they issued ticket I asked them to quote me how much do I need pay to upgrade to F. So new P class ticket is re-issued after I paid $ 260.

When I called, I mentioned to the consultant that I wanted a B747 flight via SYD or BNE. I was booked on QF 5 and realised it was an A330 when I was looking at the seat map online immediately after. I called again to change it to QF52 with an additional payment of $248.81 but no change fees. Seems a little high but then again it's T-6 days and this would take me to Gold.

In the end:

That it is, but if we get any more stickies they will have their own page .

If we must have to have so many, be better having them shortened into a line of two they are taking so much space.

A: See the wisdom of returning the ASA's online
B: Get rid of them altogether

Correct it was/is known, the website booking engine even used to quote this without the need for changing.

Yes, there were instances of this, it wasn't widely available on every routing though.

I have formatted the data into a Google Docs spreadsheet up to this post using the format:

The spreadsheet should be able to be viewed by anyone, as long as your local network does not restrict access. I.e. you do not need to request permission from me to view it.

Please PM me any suggestions you have to improve it, to save this thread becoming distracted from its intended purpose.

Just a quick question please, when we book JASA on the phone, do we get charged a credit card fee? so $7 domestic and $30 International?
We never used to get charged did we? when we could do it ourselves online... ?

Had to call up twice today (DRW-BNE-TSV); the agent insisted that my DRW-BNE flight was in 'U', while BNE-TSV had to be in 'I' - because apparently thats how it works or something like that (100k points + 300ish?); no thanks.
The second agent had never heard of this before; but was willing to give it a go. She found the seats via Classic Awards, put me on hold for a good 10 minutes and managed to price the itinerary to the more reasonable 24000pts + 193 co-pay - apologized profusely that it took so long (27 minutes) but managed to get it! Very happy with her efforts.

Yeah had that happen yesterday when I rang up. CSA thought that it had to be combined with a revenue fare and double checked with her supervisor. Took less than 5 mins and had it priced up in just over 15mins after that because apparently the system was being slow. Very pleasant experience when you get someone who puts you first or knows what they're doing, and serving the customer.

But I saw P availability on this flight today (QF127 - A380), so I called up to do a JASA->FASA upgrade. Got it at A$335 all-inclusive, and got the $80 award assistance fee waived because I couldn't do it online. This will be my first time in international First Class.

The JASA->FASA trick is surprisingly good deal to buy points at effectively 0.8 cents each. (So it's about 30000 points difference times $0.008, plus $60 change fee and minimal additional taxes/fees = $240 + $60 + $35).

So overall it's 60000 Points + $661.08 for one-way SYD-HKG F, and it will earn me 11,453 Points and 180 SC. Going to become SG in this membership year.
