In for a penny... in for a pound :)
Just booked my lucky last JASA.

Jun 14 | Nov 14 | J | BNE-MEL-PER-KTA-PER-MEL-BNE | 72,000 | $612.00 + CC fee | ? | ? | 400 SC

Vale the xASA...

Hmmm, think this is fail. I just rang to get ADL - BNE - ISA, from what I can would out this should be a minimum of 24,000. I was told the minimum was 48,000 and $310.42 or 81523 Points. As far as I can figure out I think she has done two segments separately which would make sense as to why the minimum is 48,000.

I can't actually find a J fare for ADL-ISA on ExpertFlyer, perhaps that's why?

Hmmm it's weird shows up on the classic award grid.

Anyway Hung up and try again. Booked CBR - SYD - HBA - MEL - CBR for the expected 32,000 and $297, so asked her to then try and book ADL - BNE - ISA and she came back with the same figure 48,000 so looks like I'm going to have to give up that idea :p Now how do I get from Adelaide to ISA :/

Also interestingly I also asked for a QF8 leg from BNE - SYD , the lady told me I'd have to ring international for it.

My first and last post for JASA. All done and dusted in 3 mins, super efficient John said that he has done a lot of these today, I wonder why...
Received the e-ticket in less than 10 mins, I'm impressed but too bad I have run out of points and time to book another.

June 2014 | June 2015 | J | SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD | 48,000 | $359 + CC | ??? | ??? | 160 SC

Also booked a second one, during the following week. All details as above.

Did our final MASAs this afternoon. Pretty time consuming exercise, as we had a couple of HUACAs, some 'computer says no' responses, and other times when the operators (who were trying hard) could not get the points to the classic amount. This outcome was not exactly what we were originally after, but they're trips we needed to take at some stage so we've pushed them forward.

Jun 14 | Aug 14 | J | CBR-MEL-PER | 72,000 | $560.66 (no CC fee quoted | $170 | ? | 120
Jun 14 | Aug 14 | J | PER-MEL | 72,000 | $458.94 + $14 CC fee | $83 | ? | 80

Points and $$$ for 2 pax. SCs for 1 pax.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

So I decided to splurge and book my last & unexpected MASA thanks to my cousin's wedding next year.

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin (Y/W/J or F) | Route | Points cost | Co-pay $^ | Classic co-pay $~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned

Jun 14 | Jun 15 | J | ADL-SYD-SIN-SYD-ADL | 100,000 | $1018.57 | ?? | 200,000 (IIRC) | Who the heck knows as I'm unsure if it counted a Business OR Business Flexible

Appreciate it if someone smarter than me could work out my SCs and let me know!

Many thanks

A very sad day in my QFF relationship esp. after being told that MASA's were here to stay.

I still can't/don't believe that MASA's were costing QF too much and were unsustainable given the current financial challenges faced by QF. I can honestly say that MASA's have driven my $$$ towards QF vs other airlines.

So sad!

Cleared out most of the account. still just enough to book a Hobart Express or a standard SYD-MEL run but I don't think i'll need the status credits so I may as well just save them for a Classic or some J upgrades. With existing plans I'll be WP until Jun 2016. at that point i'll be about 10K Lifetime SC's. have not worked out whether i'll switch programs as yet. have switched my CC's to Amex MR and Citibank for non Amex spend to give myself maximum flexibility.

Dealt with Ken on the premium desk. 3 return flights booked in 14 minutes flat. All ticketed within 10 mins after that.

That simpler fairer status credit reduction on SYD-ADL is a real cough. Again I thought about routing through MEL to double up - but I can imagine after 3 days in the sun at the Adelaide Test i'm just going to want to get home.
