I am taking advantage of two river cruises this year. One with business class flights to Europe with Singapore Airlines at $2999 and one to Asia, same airline at no flight cost. My wife and I are Krisflyer members. Does any one know if we accumulate any frequent flyer points?

Hi Chardon,
not sure about points on the free flights but we are booked with APT on SIA to Myanmar later this year and paid an aditional $2900 odd to upugrade to J. The SIA "manage booking" section for our flights shows that we are going to get KrisFlyer points for both the Syd-Sin and Sin-Yangon legs. Hope that helps.

On a side note I have always wondered about the 'free flight' offers. I have seen some ATP cruises advertised at $5000-$6000 with a 'free' flight, but 'land only' content can be had for as little as $1900 (not with ATP but other providers apparently offering the same level of amenity).

The upgrade sounds fairly reasonable.

Saw and ad yesterday think it was for Scenic offering business class flights on SQ to Europe "Free" with a $8-9k cruise.. Doesn't seem too bad but I don't know how much the cruise only option would cost if one was already in Europe...

that's the problem... companies like APT don't often display land only. But scoopon regularly has river cruises... 7, 10 or 14 nights... balcony room, all inclusive (pretty much identical to ATP/Scenic etc) and they are in the $2000-3000 range.

So the 'free' flight is costing somewhere around $5000-6000.

Pretty much proving the theory about "free" extras. i.e. there is no such thing as a free lunch.
Agree Burmans. We have done a few APT trips (all very good), however when we try to book our own choice of flights we get a credit allowance around $1000 for a return to Europe, which doesn't cover the Y fare. I know they get better airfare deals than I can but it does make it difficult for you to fly with an airline of your choice or a different routing. It is interesting that APT and other similar tour companies seldom if ever use Qantas, probably based on price. However we do like our Qantas even though it does get some flack in AFF and social media. Have to say in all our travels we have not had a bad flight on good old QF.
