US Banks want to see you’re using the credit they’ve given you before they consider you need more.

I spend mostly on my personal card. I have recurring spend of $A1k per month on my Ink.

Chase are also sensitive to other matters like personal credit across all US banks as a % of income you’ve declared in your application. Chase look at their total exposure across Personal and Business Lines.

BTW why did you choose the ink Business Unlimited as it has foreign transaction fees?.

Thanks Albyd. Perhaps I need to put a bit more spend on the Ink then. I can't recall why, probably because the SUB was higher at the initial time.

Hi everyone,

Looking to do my first global transfer from AMEX and since I have not yet obtained my ITIN (as my CAA isn't available for a few weeks) I was wondering if the first card obtained is important since it won't be attached to an ITIN and can't retroactively be attached.

My initial instinct was to go with the $0 Hilton Honors, however if I am able to have a first card with a bonus points offer (and cancel it later without affecting my credit since it won't be attached to an ITIN) I assume that would be a more savy decision...

Once my ITIN is obtained, I will then apply for the Hilton Honors and have it as a keeper card for credit purposes.

I also now have a 6 month history of repayments on the US HSBC premier mastercard, however I believe that only builds internal credit within HSBC as it is not attached to an ITIN...

I would appreciate any feedback or guidance on this situation or first card GT without an ITIN present and if my thinking if flawed in any way please let me know. Thank you!
