Strategy to obtain US Amex

Have aspire, Amex gold, Bonvoy biz and normal Amex cards, chase sapphire preferred and ihg chase card. What would the pros say is the best next card ? Considering one of the citi ones.

Probably one of the INK cards if you want a business card, otherwise consider which alliance suits you and go for United or Aeroplan if you like Star Alliance, one of the Avios cards if you want OneWorld (QSuites).

There are a variety of different ones to go for. I think 524 isn't as important as 24 months ago (Hyatt deval and ink train). It depends on your spending and if you can MS etc

I just noticed my address is now showing at CMRA by US Global Mail so i'm thinking of moving to Anytime Mailbox before applying for Citi cards. The monthly subscription is lower and most addresses don't appear to flagged as CMRA's. Has anyone who uses this had any issues receiving mail recently?

I've moved away from US GM due to the same issue. I now pay a $1k fee to make sure I don't need to keep changing

I added mine (with some gymnastics that I can’t remember exactly as it's been almost 2 years).

I think it involved using a less common commercial US VPN - my usual one didn't work. Extrapolating to a few years later, I suspect you'd need to use a residential IP via tailscale now

I think Tailscale alone didn’t work for P2 last year. Had to turn off location, turn off the Australia SIM and make the US SIM active on the phone. Then I didn’t get the we hit a snag error. Not sure what did the trick. Maybe it was the combination.

What MS can you do on US cards? I thought they were all watching for it and therefore I haven’t put much effort into it. Having said that, my spend could do with a boost.

I’ve finally been approved for a C1 Venture X Business. While C1 approved it, FedEx won’t deliver it as they’ve either marked it as CMRA or refuse to deliver to it. I’ve learnt that while the banks might approve the address, if you apply for a high end card, then Anytime mailbox operator will not get the delivery as they’ve been flagged by FedEx. I’m hoping to get my card before C1 locks my whole profile. I want this card since it’s a charge card and won’t need to worry so much about an assigned credit limit for larger purchases and I always pay off my cards when the statement issues. YMMV.
