Strategy to obtain US Amex

Tried to use the new itin I received for my wife using the casino earning method to apply for a chase card. Would not accept it as it mentioned it needs to start with a ‘ 9 ‘ and this itin starts with an ‘8’ . Does anyone have any ideas ?

Just received my ITIN as well. The W7 was sent to the IRS on 13 March so just under the 7 week timeline (although for the IRS that it is impressively quick given that is tax season).

I used someone off Fiverr who was exceptional and was cheaper than SH Studios. If anyone is interested, DM me and I will share a link to his ad and a referral.

Question in the meantime, should I still apply for my first Amex using GT and not quote my ITIN? My plan is to apply for a Personal Gold using GT and then apply for a Hilton Amex (probably the free one or Surpass) using my ITIN 3 months later (unless anyone thinks it’s worthwhile applying sooner).

Downgrade my Amex Biz Gold to Green in Nov as they didn't give me good retention offer.
Downgrade my Amex Biz Platinum late January to Green (so 2 Green by now) after redeeming all my benefits for the new year. The card is still in the mail to be delivered early next week
Received offer to upgrade to Biz Platinum and I could choose either Green for upgrade.
I selected the Account for the downgraded Gold=>Green to Upgrade. Just wait 48hours to request the card to Australia as this is existing account.

Has anyone applied for a personal loan with US Amex before?
I'm getting "pre-approved" offer

I've had pre-approved loan offers for years now, pretty much constantly - wouldn't apply as the interest rates offered are horrible (in my case anyway, around 14%).

Also need to factor in if you are unhedged, assume it's to either pay off other debts or park in an AU offset. FX movements could cost you more than the interest.

For people with HSBC Relationship Savings account, which criteria are you using to activate the bonus rate?

Met the Premier MC SUB so not so much spend going on that card now for the $500 repayment criteria.

Longer term also need to figure out which HSBC Premier home market to switch to...
