Strategy to obtain US Amex

I am all setup with a US bank account and a secured card from BoFA which I have been using for the last 5 months. Unfortunately, Amex AU has auto rejected me today. I am guessing it is based on past churns. I will probably wait another year or so to re-apply again without closing any other accounts.

I am guessing Amex is the only card provider that will support Global Transfer.
Also, does being a secondary card holder on my +1's account help at all for GT?

The other option is to wait for the FICO score from BoFA to come through or apply for an ITIN.

At this, stage, I need to be in the "Strategy to obtain an AU Amex" thread :D
With the exception for HSBC US Premier/Elite, you’ll need the ITIN as well to be able to apply for US cards without Amex GT (including applying directly to Amex). Aside from HSBC, I am not aware of any who will allow you to apply for a card online without an ITIN (you might have better luck in person). You’ll also want to link your ITIN to BOFA.

If speed is of the essence, go with the $40-ish Fedex service. I have used the $20-ish one once, it was ok, took a week but tracking wasn't as good iirc. I ordered a specific calendar from a conservation charity in the USA which I will be having PE forward to me when it arrives, will probably go with $20 service.
Thanks . FedEx takes around 3-4 days ?

Citi AAdvantage card arrives. I activated it and made 3 planned purchases in USD from US merchants I had been saving for this purpose. When they post, I will make the final payment on my cruise and that will more than cover the $1000 minimum spend. Data points for future reference in case anyone else is thinking about Citi cards.

30 Nov-applied using link found on D of C and used a FA code I found on Reddit. You can put 000000 if you want but I wanted to help some random FA if I could. App went pending, stayed dormant for 2 weeks.
14 Dec - notification of letter mailed to Planet Express with code. I must put the code in the app link designated to verify my address.
24 Dec - Letter with code arrived, very slow maybe due Christmas. PE send scan, I used the code in the app ink, instant approval. Later that evening, email confirming card had been posted.
6 Jan - Card arrives at PE, I immediately pay for Fedex $40 service to Brisbane.
12 Jan - Fedex delivers card. I activate it, no VPN used on laptop, set up Citi account. I make 3 small purchases as noted and set up link to B of A for payment account. This will take a couple days as they will make a couple tiny deposits to confirm the account and it's still Sunday there.

This will get interesting in a few months as I believe Barclays AA cards will shift to Citi. I wanted to make sure I don't get classified as an existing customer and miss out on a Citi AA sub. So I may end up with 2 of these.
Did you apply for BoA CC with ITIN? Online or Call-in?
