Strategy to obtain US Amex

I wonder of anyone has used certified passport as part of ID when applying chase please? Is this acceptable?
Its certified by JP in Aus. thanks.
They don't really care whether it's certified or not. Standard photocopy should be sufficient.

Thanks, I only have certified passport copy at the moment. Maybe I will wait and send through scaned copy of my passport.

Can I ask how do you transfer points across? Through online chat? Once per year as in membership year or calendar/financial year?

@sudoer

Any ideas whether NZ QT would work for the Aspire $200 credit? I've had it work for the original $250 when it wasn't a prepaid rate but there doesn't seem to be any DPs online.

DP: Applied for Amex Green via GT in Feb. Agent asked for address verification in form of ultility/bank statement, Wise was not accepted. Application expired before I had my US HSBC set up.

Applied again for Amex Green via GT in May (with my bank statement ready), nothing changed in application compared to first try. This time, agent only wanted to verbally confirm name and US address and got approved. 🤔🎉 YMMV

Unfortunately calling them didn’t work, ended up having to wait for the internal credit team to approve it which took exactly 5 business days.

Here’s another DP of my latest Amex GT experience as a newbie without an SSN/ITIN (for context, I am actually moving to the U.S. in the coming months and wanted to start building my credit history ASAP).

1. Reactivated my old HSBC Australia account (took weeks after mailing in the account reactivation form and multiple phone calls chasing up).
2. Instantly converted my account to Premier status by walking into a branch and showing my payslips demonstrating that I can meet the monthly $9k deposit.
3. Applied for the U.S. premier bank account online on the same day. Was approved after one week of back and forth emails with the U.S. account opening team (had to show them my U.S. employment contract). Made my first deposit via Wise which settled overnight.
4. Updated my address to a family member’s house in the U.S. Waited one month for a bank statement to be generated that can be used as proof of us address. Also got approved for the HSBC US premier credit card as a foreigner at the same time which was a plus.
5. Got a US phone number via Talkatone.
6. Applied for an Amex card online via GT with my passport details and they asked for proof of US address. Unfortunately HSBC doesn’t do 3 way address verification calls anymore so had to upload my bank statement online.
7. Finally approved after a week of submitting my documents.
Thanks for info. What would happen if you didn't have a US employment contract?

I am thinking that I should more my number from talkatone to Tello but afraid of the transfer process will trigger so many issues
Might get a Tello US number

Edit: would they post the SIM card to you in Australia? Looked more closely...will only ship to US....I don't have eSim in my phone but +1 does....is eSim what you guys do?

Mammoth drop of dirt cheap (50K one way) business class award seats on AirFrance across the Atlantic for peak northern hemisphere summer season.

Figure I'd post here as regulars are likely to be the only ones with access to AirFrance miles.
Further to this, there's also a massive release on Asia-Europe routes.

Seeing up to 6 seats:

You should be able to open a HSBC U.S. bank account if you are an existing Premier customer in Australia anyway, so you don’t have to have an employment contract. Best to go through the online application process and answer the questions as required.

Got approved for my 5th US Amex and 2nd Business card today with the Bonvoy Business. Has anyone seen this error before when adding their card to PayPal/Amazon.

Wanted to check before I contact support and inadvertently stir up the nest…

I am getting the same error. Might be a problem with their systems?

How do you check your FICO score, I've only just activated up my US Amex (no ITIN no bank account) and when I click enrol to my credit guide it's coming up with an error.
