Strategy to obtain US Amex

The only way to get your EX or TU reports is to snail mail in a request. You can only get your credit report online with EQ unfortunately. Quirks of working only with an ITIN.
Has anyone here tried to get their credit reports via snail mail ? And was it successful ? And do you provide the US address or Aussie address to send your credit report?

Does anyone receive verification texts for purchases on their chase cards on their Australian nos ? I don’t . Any workarounds / solutions ?

I got $50 aspire flight credit from paying Qantas award taxes. The transactions were showing flight details.
Do you know if the credit will be reversed if you cancel purchase ?

hey guys, any recent DP's on Amex Card approvals?
I applied for Amex Biz Gold 09th Nov, id docs requested and submitted on 10th Nov.
Called after the usual 5 business day processing timeline and was told doc review is still in Q and no further info or doc needed at this stage.
It usually hasn't taken this long for Amx to finish reviewing docs. Wondering if anyone has recently applied for any amx card and their approval timeline?

I was recently approved for the biz gold. They told me that I needed to send through my ITIN which I did then nothing. I called up a week later and they also wanted my passport but hadn't told me.

It was weird as I already had one other biz and 3 personal cards with them

Have you continued to receive SUBs on these cards? I'm in PUJ - I'm thinking I'm not spending enough - have Green and Gold - after qualifying for the SUB, I have just been putting bonus categories (mostly dining) on them. Using my AU cards for the vast bulk of spend as there isn't the FX risk especially when 1 X spend is at 0.65 which is not much different to what you've earn on AU issued Visa/MC without the acceptance issues of AMEX.

I wanted to get C1 Venture which is a Visa at 2X on everything but it doesn't like myUS so I'll need to consider "changing" my US address before trying again although C1 decided to shut my banking down after I successfully applied for Checking and Savings accounts. Haven't seen the cash come through yet and it's been a few weeks now. Any insight into a reliable US mail forwarder would be appreciated. I've had myUS for ages and apart from being very expensive, they have worked.

Got rejected several times after applying for credit (including Apple Card and CSP) having a long-established FICO (it's now down from 840-770 after a few apps so I'm wary of making any more as ITIN doesn't seem to have helped)

yeah I have 4 CC and 1 checking a/c but they still asked to upload ITIN and passport which I did. It has been 8 business days since applying and uploading docs but still no response....

Update: Amex GT
No ITIN number
1st GT Amex Platinum approved 15 May 2023 (total spent up to date $36,000 and paid off in full, 6 billing cycles)
2nd GT Amex Hilton Surpass approved 22 Nov 2023 ($1,000 CL)

Is this the right credit limit for my 2nd GT? or once I get the card & activate I will see an actual limit?

Different to my experience - my first GT (Aspire) I got 8k, second GT (Surpass) I got 20k...

Does anyone have any good input/links on manufactured spending for those of us based outside of US? I’d love to rack up more points and get bonuses but don’t have a ton of organic spend.

1st GT hilton Aspire 8k limit ( dec 2021) , 2nd GT Amex charge platinum (jul 2022) , 3rd GT Bonvoy brilliant 25k limit ( jan 2023) , just got hilton limit incresed email ( from 8k to 11k ) last week.

I've previously wondered about charging an Opal card then requesting a refund which goes to an Australian bank account. Opal charges don't incur any surcharge and earn the 3X transport bonus on the Green card.

There may be a max recharge limit on Opal cards - I have no idea. This is nothing more than a fleeting idea, I've not read the Opal refund policy at all, so obviously do your own research (and report back with results if you decide to try it)

Has anybody ever tried to claim against any of the insurances on a US Amex card without having anything to prove US residency?

I've just had VA canx my ADL-MEL tonight and I've had to rebook on QF in order to make my JL flight to NRT at 7am. Given they were triple the price and both on my Amex I was wondering if I could leverage some trip interruption cover.

Sounds like a promising idea. Let us know if you have any luck with it

I've thought about it, but I think it's way too risky to get shutdown but I might be being conservative
