Strategy to obtain US Amex

anyone recently successfully add fund to starbuck apps?
i registered new starbuck account on the app (US starbuck app) today with vpn turned on.
Failed to add fund with my US amex credit card.
Later on i cannot login to the account on the phone. what happened?

Is this to hopefully get the new $20 per month offer for restaurants with Brilliant and Aspire?

yes that is right. looked thru the thread, a few has been successfully load the fund into starbucks app. I registered the account successfully with vpn but failed to load fund and also unable to login again.

I just tried also and the payment was not successful but my Amex card has $1 pending and $10 pending which is the amount I attempted to load. Using the app and website on iPhone.

Just received the email from Amex thanks for using your offer (restaurant). Still no funds into my Starbucks account though and hopefully will load soon.

My $20 Starbucks card credit using the Aspire was instant, paid via the Starbucks (iPhone) app, using VPN, yesterday.

what is the trick? i registered today and can login initially with VPN. Now i cannot even login now.

Yes, in Oz. Using the Starbucks USA app. Not a (wrong) password issue is it?

Edit: I used all of the Aspire $250 resort credit (with reimbursement) last year, with this method, when USA restaurants were permitted for a couple of months. Not the best use maybe, using Starbucks, but it served a purpose

not password issue. I changed password successfully to make sure it is not the password issue. still cannot login now.

Did the funds come up as pending on Amex card like me? I’ve had to send Starbucks an email now saying you have charged me but no credit.

No. I did one small transaction last year on Apple Wallet, and Amex reimbursement failed, as it didn’t recognise the correct merchant.

I tried this last year and same issue whenever I logged in and then logged out again it would say wrong password so have used multiple log ons. This time the app keeps me logged in but if I use a web browser wrong password. Last year I gave up before payment but this time need to follow through as have pending payments.

In my case, I had an existing USA Starbucks account from 10 years ago. Adding funds through the Aspire is quite straightforward, storing the cc details in the Starbucks app on my iPhone.

Yes. It shows balances and debits in USD. And don’t listen to staff who say that it can’t be used in Oz. It’s a frequent comment I find. The test is for them to scan it. Anyway, it works in Oz, converting charges to USD.
