No.and no other proof needed?
I might try this method for my P2 who has held a US GT Amex green since Nov. She doesnt have an ITIN or SSN and currently doesnt have an AMEX Aus to try GT.Just update on my 2nd Amex application. After being told I wouldn't get the SUB applying over the phone, I tried to apply for the gold through the Resy referral link and was PUJ'ed as well.
So I put some charges through my green card and after a couple days tried again and surprisingly no PUJ! However, I didn't enter a valid SSN and needed to call up to change this to my passport number after I received the outcome email. They also needed me to verify my name and address, but were unable to get through to HSBC. After a couple calls, the agent instead verified me by calling my Tello number and approved my Gold card - yay!
I figured I might be out of PUJ now, so I tried to apply for the Brilliant over the phone since I saw I could apply for them both on the same day, but after half hour of going through the application, I was told that I wouldn't get the SUB. Might need to wait a bit to apply for the Brilliant then.
ABN won’t help . No need for EIN . Apply as sole proprietor using your ITIN/ SSN.What’s the process for getting a business card? I have an ABn here but no EIN there
You can mention you don’t have an itin or ssn .I might try this method for my P2 who has held a US GT Amex green since Nov. She doesnt have an ITIN or SSN and currently doesnt have an AMEX Aus to try GT.
I was wondering when you say they needed to verify your name and address, could we simply supply a US bank statement / credit card statement which she does have?
You also mentioned this method may be risky? What risks do you foresee?
Was also wondering what reason did you provide for only entering your passport number and not ITIN/SSN on application form when you call them up to have it changed?
get an itin, get an EIN (ein takes two seconds over the phone). Nothing else. What’s the process for getting a business card? I have an ABn here but no EIN there
Is there a way to do this in a meaningful way? Otherwise most retail purchases would be a waste of time esp if the cashier is super diligent and makes you refund it to the source card?Sounds like a good MS opportunity ...
Hoping to get an answer as well generally regarding how ITINs get attached to credit reports.Hi everyone
Been away for a long while and have had a green card for over a year now and using with no issues. I am yet to get a FICO score attached to my card and I thought I would try and call AMEX US today and see what the issue is. I got told that Experien does the FICO for Amex USA and they require a SSN to activate - I tried using my ITIN that I have received but no dice.
Has anyone else had this issue - have been offered an upgrade to a platinum card for 100K but doesn't seem that enticing compared with other options that people have been offered.
I would really like to get the next card going and using my ITIN that I have had approved

Out of interest, how do you do this to pay Amex ?
On my US Amex statement, I only see an account number (well ending in...), but no routing number or any other method other than a phone number to call or americanexpress.com/pbc
With Aus Amex, the statement has options for our local inter-bank payment methods (Bpay, PayID, etc)...
I'm 13 months in and no FICO score yet - hoping it appearsYou can try another Amex GT pretty quickly but can't move on to other issuers until you have a FICO score (6-8 months)
I'm not an authority, this is a question as much as an answerI'm 13 months in and no FICO score yet - hoping it appears
Thanks i might try another GT Amex and see how I go.Hoping to get an answer as well generally regarding how ITINs get attached to credit reports.
But if it is for an Amex card in particular you apparently can't not get another non non amex card through a method that isn't not another non Global transfer from your Amex AU profile. Could always give that a try.
Not sure how to get a targeted offer sorry.
I think Maza also used their address. But i verified my real US address so hoping somewhere they did include thatMy ITIN application the agency actually used their own address as stated but then had my postal as Austria instead of Australia so I’m not even in the right hemisphere
Thanks for the update - much appreciated. I’m looking to diversify the cards I use somewhat and put HSBC into the mix as I haven’t used mine very much at all. I’ll do now while being mindful of the FX risk.EDIT: unrelated update - HSBC Premier gives 3x points at colesworth.
