I'm guessing a lot of people will ask why am I even asking this question, please read below first then I would be keen to get advice.

I am going to start a new role in Asia in January, currently I am sitting at 2200 SCs on my membership and will meet requirements for P1 this year and probably tip over to LTG as well.

Over the next few membership years I will be doing a lot of intra Asia flights on CX as well as a few back to Australia on either CX or QF.

As a lot of flights in Asia are cx, am I better moving my accruals to AA to build status and points and possibly try to reach lifetime exec platinum with them?

I'm questioning whether P1 has any value above OWE on CX?

I haven't seen if CX has an equivalent lifetime recognition as QF or AA, so would only consider this if there was a lifetime option.

Very keen to hear thoughts.

Thanks,

As far as I'm aware and based on a couple of flights with CX while a QF P1, I'm pretty confident in saying there's no point being P1 if you won't be flying QF that much. You are treated as OWE but no more on other carriers.

Have a look at the P1 Experiences thread and you'll see plenty of additional info.

Many people, me included, also see little additional benefit in P1 over WP in general.
