While yes you can get d***heads from everywhere, i think its a bit superficial to just say we are all the same... There was a reason that the term ugly american was coined (rather than the ugly tibetans or ugly japanese (this latter may have had something to do with the result of WW2)) because of the prevalence and extent of some of the lousy behaviour that americans have exhibited over time...
I have no problems with americans, my sister is married to one and my family is actually quite pro american, but they definitely have a tendency to a few cultural attributes (as do their TSA officials who would be quite ready to tell them to shut it i imagine)... Ze Germans also tend (note the word tend) to have a few attributes as well...
And anyway the bad points of a person, or culture, can often be the flip side of the good points, its often just when, where, how and how much of it is used in any situation that defines it... A like of efficiency can be the flip side of annoying impatience, confidence and can-do can be the flipside of over confidence and loud arrogance...
And perhaps in stressful situations, or at least when out of their comfort zones, these attributes might become more pronounced or obvious, while making allowances for the differences in people who act decently, or otherwise, in all places as is acknowledged here...
