The Treasury says some so-called "virtual winemakers" are buying grapes and contracting out the manufacturing process solely in order to claim the [$500,000 Wine tax] rebate.

Disappointing that I've been toying with the idea of getting someone to make me some wine. Might have even had someone suggest this option in a previous workplace.

One of the guys from work and I have been toying with the idea of getting into the wine game, but not to "game" the tax benefits, we would do it for the love of the wine.

Another contractor I've worked with a lot has recently semi-retired to a small winery near Heathcote.
