Having just done this, I thought it would be worth posting as it couldn't have been easier. Previously there's been the odd post here and there mentioning you can status match HH Diamond to Sixt Platinum. That's no longer available, but they have an absolutely massive list of airline, hotel, car rental and other programs that they'll match. They don't require any proof of actually using that status, so any status you've earned from a credit card etc. is fine to use.

The process is really simple, go to https://www.sixt.com/php/profile/cardrequest/start and enter your details, activate your e-mail and then enter further details. Once you get to the final screen, click on the + sign next to Card upgrade and then put in the relevant program details. I used Best Western Diamond Select, but you could have used Radisson Gold etc. It seems to take lower program status levels too, so I'm sure most people have at least something relevant.

The upgrade was instantaneous and from clicking on the link to becoming Sixt Platinum took me only a matter of minutes.

I'm a Hertz President's Circle member but since COVID their average weekly prices have nearly doubled so it led me to broaden my search (based on the firms I have locally available to me, in any case). A search led me to Sixt and their rates were only slightly more than what I used to pay with Hertz, so time to give them a go.

Thanks for this will give it a go. I hired a couple of cars from them in LAX when I was Sixt platinum previously and got some awesome cars.

In fact it was your experience that I had sitting in my travel notes that led me to give it another look.

IIRC you hired a small SUV (Rav 4) via Argus Car Hire and put your number in and they recognised your status and upgraded you to a Volvo XC60.

And....... booked, just under 2 weeks from now when we can escape home and stay at 'self contained' accommodation so have a car for a week. Sixt ended up being £75 cheaper than Hertz, so let's see how it goes.

Thanks - good old Qatar status match from Virgin a while ago. Also when I logged into the Qatar app they have extended status until Dec 21 instead of June and guess they will extend it further later

How’s the coverage (locations) and convenience in Oz? ie are rental offices usually along side the AVISs and HERTZ or do you need to schlep a mile?

I just did a dummy booking for a week in SA and the price looked very competitive compared to a very good corporate rate I get with AVIS.

Looking at renting Sixt in Chile in December - not going well! Found this thread and followed the link above; worked and I saw the huge list of matching programs; unfortunately slim pickings for me.

Not included : Qantas, Hilton, IHG which are my Platinums.

There were 3 entries just labelled 'velocity' (no airline), so I chose one and uploaded pic of my card. Will see what happens.

Interestingly, when I went back and explored the web site, I found the Sixt Loyalty Program page and for status matches, it only had car loyalty programs, nothing else that I could see.

Anyway, this made me remember that my Velocity Play upgrade to Hertz President hadn't come through, so I've called Velocity to get that moving.

Hmmm, I've started to use them in Adelaide (3 times in past 12 months) but I couldn't get the registation page in post #1 to work. I'd have the same problem as you @RooFlyer, I'm Diamond with Hilton so I'd be opting for Velocity.

Seems that the appropriate landing page for Australia is here: Update your browser (go down to the Status Match Registration Form)

Yes, thats the one I found on their web site - but it only matches other car rental programs. But when I did it on my iPhone via Flashback's link, I did get a bunch of airline/hotel matching partners. 🤷‍♂️
