Has anyone had any success with status match with SPG from A-Club?

Currently Platinum with A-Club but considering seeing if SPG will do a match? Do you know who to send the request to?

Thanks in advance!

As per Starmegado SPG were comping people to SPG Gold only, and if you were already SPG Gold or SPG Plat already then no luck.

So if anything SPG Gold might match but unlikely.

thanks guys, thats a bummer:(

No real surprise though. I got A Club Platinum via a coupon I found online. If they matched I could then use that to upgrade to SPG Platinum :)

It's just a pity that A Club isn't a better program, because they have so many properties which would make retention much easier.

Slightly OT but I have managed a status match to SPG Platinum from Hilton Diamond. ie the system does work as they have ay it does on FT.

I'll do such a thing when I perceive the need. Such are supposed to be one-time things and with IHG PC "laying prostrate in front of me" at the moment and earning Hilton Diamond the hard way, I do not have enough bed nights for stays at other property chains to go around.

In any case I was SPG Gold for 18 months; a completely underwhelming experience.

Going from SPG Gold to SPG Plat is a big leap.
From HH gold to HH diamond not a great difference.
Besides next year I will be able to requalify SPG plat as 50 nights vs 60 for HH diamond-we tend to have less frequent but longer stays.

It can be done..just not in one leap.

A few years ago, I got HHonors Gold through a fast-track. I amazingly got Hyatt to match it to Diamond, which SPG then happily matched to Plat (I've requalified legitimately since). :)

To be clear, this can't be done from A|Club as per the OP's request.

I had heard SPG Gold isn't that good, and you have to do a lot of nights to get top hotel status on one or more programs.

Overnighting at the airport using lounge chairs doesn't count.
