Status Credits when upgrading from economy > business (domestic)

Hi All,

Hope everyone is safe and busy.

I booked a flight today with qantas and for business we as a rule purchase a flexi fare due to appointments etc going over time.

i opted to upgrade to business and it was a whopping 10,000 points for the ADL > DAR leg.

i have plenty of points but do I gain different status credit if I upgrade on that leg or are the points allocated on the original tkt?

Hi, when you upgrade with points you get the SCs for the fare purchased, i.e. economy or discount economy as the case may be.

Wasn't aware that Qantas flew to Tanzania, let alone from Adelaide
