Status credits when reaching platinum level for first time

Wondering when u reach platinum level for the very first time is that when your membership year begins?

As in any SCs earnt thereafter would go towards mainting platinum for the next year?

- Qualifying flight on 28 October 2018
- Status review on 2 November 2018 (new anniversary date)
