Hi All

If I book on the SYD MOW on s7, it is a codeshare to FRA on QF.

Does this earn full QF Status credits?

Regards

Hi we have just done S7 Beijing to Novosibirsk as a seperate booking independant of the Qantas Flights and pleased to say we earned full Status Credit however as we were in Discount economy only 25% of points and no bonus for being Platinum or OWE.

Have fun in Russia we had a great time in Siberia

If on a S7 codeshare on QF metal then earning is as for S7.

(On the converse, except for some JQ metal exceptions, if travel is booked on a QF flight number in a eligible earning class then points/SC's/[SUP]~[/SUP]are earned as for QF regardless of the metal.)

as I remember some of these S7 coded flights AUS to Moscow return (through SIN to FRA on QF metal) can be relatively cheap around the 800-900 $A mark if booked in advance, sometimes half the cost of being booked through BA via LHR or QF via LHR or FRA, and if you have lounge access with status just use the SIN and FRA lounges.

Sorry to drag an old thread. But just did a LED-DME LEG on s7 a week ago and was wondering what other people's experience was in terms of how long it takes for SC to post. Mine is yet to post. Wondering how long to wait before putting in a missing points claim.

On the aside was pleasantly surprised by the service and planes.

My points never arrived, I had to make a claim. S7 would have to be one of the most underrated airlines, have flown on S7 metal a few times, all the planes were new and the staff were all of course fluent in English. My S7 flight a few years ago SVO-Volgograd was cancelled due to fog until the next day, all the pax were put up in the local hotel with meals provided, doesn't always happen with all airlines.

Last year we flew S7 and were impressed, only down side no IFE. We were surprised that it took less than a week for both points and SC to post onto our accounts.

have no issue flying S7 and will do so again

About 12 months ago, there were some very cheap S7 coded fares SYD-DME return, using the SYD-FRA flight on QF metal and then FRA-DME on S7 metal for about 850 dollars, booked from the S7 website, don't know if these fares still exist.

Tried to book flights using s7.ru this morning SYD-DME return. Offering code-shares on Etihad.

Guess it must have something to do with QF now using DXB, and probably that is the end of the SYD-FRA-DME return 800 dollar flights booked with S7

I remember J being something ludicrously cheap as well. Clearly not so ludicrously cheap any more based on $7800 quote I got back!

The fact QF no longer fly to FRA would help put a spanner in the works. Upsetting I could never take advantage as some of the fares looked amazing!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Last minute decision meant that I now need an award ticket northern Europe to SYD July, fat chance of anything easy this late. Thought I would check S7, little gem at times this airline, peak July and they have LED-DME-HKG one way for just over 400 dollars (same sort of thing, they use CX metal from DME-HKG). Gives me a few AA miles as well and of course OW lounge access all the way. Stuck a 25k AA redemption HKG-SYD=PQQ for a few dollars tax. Not a bad outcome, so LED=PQQ for 25K AA miles and change from 500 dollars.

Hello all

This seems to be the most relevant thread for S7 flights after a quick search. Just booked a Tokyo - Vladivostock positioning flight for a Trans-Siberian trip in June. Easy enough using their website albeit NAB did not let my initial transaction go through. I did get a call of NAB within 30 minutes asking if I had tried to make the transaction which I confirmed I had and was then able to commit the transaction at the second time. Good to see fraud prevention working at its best there!

Itinerary and e-tickets have come through and books into 'K' so Economy that will earn 1 point per mile and status credits. My query is that there does not appear to be a way to reserve seats and the booking reference received is only 5 digits not 6 so cannot use it on check my trip. I guess it is a case of waiting until online check-in commences before you get to reserve seats?

From the comments I have seen, looking forward to this trip on what seems to be a decent airline, we will have plenty of our own IFE. Much better than when I looked a few months ago and we were going to have to go with JAL to PEK then S7 to VVO. This is one trip where I prefer to go direct rather than connect! :)

One thing to be aware if is lounge access can be a pain as they dont seem to recognise OW LOL took us ages to get into the lounge and then discovered that all food and drink, tea and coffee included, are NOT free unless you are in Business class and they were damned expensive....

Thanks for the tip. Will only need a lounge in NRT and hadn't even considered yet which lounge we would be able to use. Flying BA out of St Petersburg at the other end so doubt I will see an S7 lounge. Interesting to hear different OW airlines views on the published benefits or as it seems in S7's case the lack of.
