I am on the verge of graduating from SG to WP for the first time. Soon after I graduate I will be travelling for around 5 weeks on CX, AA and EK but won't have my new card before I leave. Will my new status reflect on my BP when I check in for each of my respective flights? If not I won't have my WP card to prove my status.

Should be on the BP. Also take a screen shot on your phone showing your QFF membership details and status once its clicked over.

I'm in a similar position (will hit WP for the first time after a BA flight to LHR). QF WP should come up on the boarding passes although I plan to have my iphone ap closeby, and I guess I'll direct the lounge dragons to QF.com.au if there's an issue.

I've had this sort of thing happen several years ago when I was silver. One year, due to the timing of my status year, I fell from silver to bronze just before I went on a trip. The first AA issued boarding pass less then a week after the change still noted silver.

The next year (back on silver), I had the Ruby card and had moved up to gold during the trip (and then again to platinum by the end of the trip). Went into the ORD admirals club with the old card just after the new status had posted on QF. Told them that I had just made oneworld Sapphire with my last flight and didn't have a new card. They scanned it and let me in.

If your new status doesn't reflect on the boarding pass, ask the check-in desk to delete and then re-enter your FF number. That might prompt the system to 'upgrade' and reflect on the BP.

Might even be worth doing that in advance of travel if your status doesn't update automatically. Not a major issue - but the new status might give you additional benefits when it comes to op-ups and the like.

This happened to us in Dec. Flight out on 22 Dec on QF put us up to SG. QF website updated next day with new status. Flight back on 27 Dec on QF code but EK metal (first flight as SG). BP did not show SG status and also dropped the PS status. QFF# on BP and QC member was the only recog. Checked status again at EK lounge and was told we are not showing as SG on their system.
So yes, it will be a good idea to have a screenshot on mobile to show new status.

Thanks, all good advice. Will certainly have a screenshot on hand if required. Does anyone know how long it takes for QF to issue the new card?

Not sure about official service standard or if WP is from the same service channel but in our case, flicked over 22 Dec, welcome note dated 30 Dec and SG pack arrived 1st or very early 2nd week in January. I remember thinking to myself, what a quick service (as compared to hotel status loyalty cards which can take months).

Normally 7-10 days between change and dispatch.
Though when I put a name change through a week before travel in 2014, they sent me an older card (non QF Cash capable) express and I had it in 2 days.

I had the exact same problem in Dubai two weeks ago. I hit SG two days earlier, but the Emirates lounge dragons wouldn't recognise it saying it wasn't in their system. Two days later coming out of Doha everything appeared to have updated and I had no problems.
