Choosing this month's Trip Report of the Month winner was particularly difficult, because there have been multiple really excellent trip reports over the holiday period. But we couldn't go past @Human's absolute cracker of a trip report, covering their "trip of a lifetime" space-themed tour of the USA, and even ending in Emirates First Class.

As a child, I was obsessed with space travel. One of my earliest memories of school is my Kindergarten teacher sharing the news of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz joint mission. I remember my fascination and excitement a year later when the Viking landers sent back the first ever colour photographs from the surface of Mars.

I have two enduring memories of the 1980s: first, poring over the photos of distant planets and moons from the Voyager space probes, while impatiently waiting for the next planetfall (Jupiter 1979, Saturn 1981, Uranus 1986, Neptune 1989 … sadly and frustratingly, no Pluto)...

Istanbul - Batumi - Tbilisi - Baku (and some stops in between)



With the recent intriguing political developments in Georgia, and having not been to a CIS country in several years, I thought now would be a good time to visit. Thread 'Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France'

We have been planning a winter trip to Lapland in Northern Finland for a number of years, and I managed to find some award flights for the whole family from Tokyo to Helsinki, and return award flights from Paris back to Singapore.

With that, a trip was born.

Travelling party is a family of 2 adults 2 kids, and the travel was in Dec 2024-Jan 2025

The "polar night" is the period at high latitudes during which the sun does not rise at all.

The Sultanate of Oman has been on the bucket list for quite some time, but never quite reached the top of places to visit … until now. As a tourist destination it offers incredible landscapes from coral reefs, beaches and fjords to rugged mountains and desert sands as well as cities with rich culture, history and architecture from ancient ruins to the contemporary Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Muscat. I’m looking forward to sharing some of the highlights with AFF readers.

Wow. Thanks @AFF Editor That’s an exciting result to kick off election day Thanks to everyone who joined the trip to Oman vicariously too.

I love the TR threads and learning from each other. Some 2026 plans are brewing for 1022+1 and I thanks to @RooFlyer’s Namibian TR which I think also got a gong one month, if I’m not mistaken.
