I will be flying Jetstar Star Class from Gold Coast to Sydney in September!
I wonder what I should expect on this flight!

The website promises amenity kit, complimentary beverage and food and lounge access! I wonder if Jetstar will provide all these amenities on this domestic segment.

Any comment will be appreciated, since the comments here are pretty mix!

Thanks,
Carfield

I've not flown this sector on JQ, but I have flown CNS-SYD as the domestic sector of a QF international flight and they didn't hand out any amenity kits. As these kits are usually handed to pax shortly before or after take-off, and the flight you are on is presumably the continuation of a JQ flight, I doubt whether you'll get one. But don't be too disappointed - the JQ star class amenity kit is nothing flash. I would imagine they'll feed you though.

The old JQ BNE-SYD flight you got lounge access and a snack, that was it!

For OOL-SYD only (or any short haul Star Class), you will not get an amenity kit. (If you were flying the previous KIX-OOL or NRT-OOL segment where this flight comes from, you would obviously get one). You can always try asking on board if they have a spare.

You should expect to get fed; how this works is variable. Either you will get your choice of drink (assumed alcohol is OK) and another kind of snack (e.g. cookies, chips etc. - usually a selection from three choices), or you will be able to order anything off the menu (including sandwiches, etc.). In either case, you don't pay a cent.

As a Star Class pax, you can access the Gold Coast Lounge in OOL (operated by JQ) - normally this is a pay-for-entry lounge.

I flew Star Class mid December, 2009, Star Class usually lands at the International Airport - so just check

You have access to the Gold Coast lounge nothing fancy if you are returning you go to QP Syd Int'l Airport

Flight similiar to business seat but leather; and yes you do have a light meal and drinks but no amenities kit.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just remember here that the lounge is on the domestic side and you’ll need to clear more security before you get on the “international” flight.

The lounge is very nice though, plenty of alcohol available all day ;)

I would say that since they lost the Qantas spirit(s), the Alco-side isn't as good as it was when a QP, but the food options are significantly better than when it was a QP. As for the general lounge ambience, the new colour scheme & furnishings are very down market (don't like the lack of windows either), and they really need to unlock the showers (even if it's BYO towel).

Well, there might not be any spirits, but you’d have to go to an international lounge to have a glass of red, white, sparkling or beer in any other QP in the morning. In there however, I’ve had a beer at 6… AM.

The food is very good :)

If you know better, why fly Jetstar????????? ahhhhhhhh price!!!!!!!!

and we expect an amenity kit on a domestic leg??????

I flew MELSYD on JQ *Class.
Wasn't expecting much other than 40 SC's - Got cheese and crackers and a coughpy bottle of plastic red wine (wine wasnt even offered on the 12pm flight - I had to go to the galley).
Will never do it again if I have the choice.
The only upside was F Lounge access!

Ah yes.... all the stuff on the shorthaul is basically Y catering (and in Star Class it is free). Hence the wine "shuttles", which after you've had some good stuff, really isn't all that great any more (although it's still passable, cf. cask wine )

One time all I got was a choice of 3 snacks; last time we could order whatever off the menu (so I chose a sandwich and cookies).

The glass bottles only come out on the longhaul Star Class.

Maybe I was being unrealistic.
The day JQ serve Torboreck Woodcutters Shiraz  well.....
:p

You stole my thunder there! ;)

I was thinking an amenity kit for every QF DOM J flight I had done, I would make a fortune on ebay :)

Mr!
