Any suggestions on how to book a Air New Zealand flight using Scandinavian Airlines EuroBonus points via the Star Alliance network. No matter what date or destination is requested, no seats appear to be available via Star Alliance. Does anyone know if Air New Zealand is still participating in the Star Alliance program.

Yes, Air New Zealand is still in Star Alliance.

I'm guessing you trying to book through the SAS portal? I'll have a go through Aeroplan and see what I get, just for comparison.

Just tried the Aeroplan site (Air Canada) for AKL-SYD-AKL and AKL-LAX-AKL for a few dates in October and November in Y, and there's a fair amount of ANZ availability. Nothing at all in J though, which doesn't really surprise me.

To save some aggregation, it may help to look for availability of seats before calling EuroBonus to book flights.

As a rule of thumb (but only a rule of thumb - it doesn't apply all the time), redeeming points for Air New Zealand Business Class, especially long haul Business Premier, is very, very difficult, if not close to impossible.

Thank you all for suggestions. I have seen mention of an internet site where availability of Star Alliance seats is shown. Does anyone know of the site or internet address. It was all so easy when bookings were handled out of Sydney SAS office.
