Star Alliance - which program has the best redemptions ex-AU?

Hey guys

Having not travelled for a few years I've started a new job which will have frequent (2-3 times a year) travel to the US. Travel will generally be on United. Company policy is all travel will be in business (mostly P class I think).

I've previously been a OW flyer though my Qantas status has lapsed from Platinum to Silver. I've got zero Star Alliance experience other than flying SQ a couple of times.

As work travel will be up the front I'm not too bothered about status but I'm looking for the best program for business and first class redemptions from Sydney, predominantly to Europe and Asia. The ability to transfer credit card points to it would be a bonus. I am willing to change cards to facilitate this if need be.

Any thoughts on which program is best to credit my United flights to?

KrisFlyer all the way. Reasonable award charts, no fuel surcharges on SQ flights and lots of premium cabin award availability out of Australia to Asia and Europe! You can also transfer your credit card points there from most Aussie programs.

Agree. I use Life Miles (Avianca) which is great for points purchasing, but redemptions getting out of Australia are much harder than in other parts of the planet. And although I have never flown SQ, it appears a rare consensus among AFF that they are the best Star Alliance from Australia.
