Greetings!

I am leaving next friday with my husband and we are taking a world trip - I believe its 29,000 kms

We are booked on Star Alliance carriers United Airlines, Swiss LX and Thai Airways.

Mostly H class tickets and some M class tickets.

Maybe next year or so we would like to use the points to go back to Thailand or that area.

Can someone suggest a good program. Singapore Airline's program only recognise the M class tickets

Thank you for your help!

Miles & More (Lufthansa) gives full credit for M & H class from the look of it.

I am not sure how they are for redemptions as I don't have many miles so far.

Hi megsfield and welcome to the board, and also my first chance to answer something:D. It may sound unfair but 29000 doesn't get you much nowadays, you will need around 55000 to get over to Bangkok and return. Don't worry, if you particularly like Thailand pick their national carrier TG, it more than likely flies out of your port, & on the Australian run they have new 772 and 773's. They will give 100% points for M/H, but be careful on the LX run there are no WTE or P and on the UA sector, no WST or Z.
You will be able to combine and get one free trip, or upgrade into Business class from 2 cheap economy tickets or get a couple of nights accomodation at somewhere like the Sheraton or the Dusit Thani. The upgrades are good because you will have access to the Bangkok lounge which is splendid and has Dom champers and you will be able to have a shoulder massage too. All in all makes flying back home a little more tolerable. Enjoy your flight regards bkkrop

I would consider BMI Diamond Club. Both booking classes get full miles across the carriers and their redemptions are great value.

With 29,000 miles each you only need to purchase 10000 miles each for a return flight anywhere within: Australia (including Tasmania), Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norfolk Islands, Tonga,Western Somoa

Your best option by far is to use the co-pay option and use half the miles. Multiple the miles and co-pay by 1.5 for biz redemption.

Also, BMI allows you to book one-way rewards for half the miles, so that gives you even more flexibility.

Thank you so much you have been very helpful...its a bit overwhelming when your not involved in it often:shock:. Thank you, what a great service!
