Hi,

I'm new to the airline business and wondered if someone could shed some (real) insight into how the whole 'standby' tickets work when purchased through work. I have heard stories where there's lots of waiting and bumping off. I have two children and would need to be on the same flight. Don't really mind where I travel to particularly, but can't risk not getting back through non-availability. Is this perk actually useful to get cheaper flights or not?

Thanks in advance.;)
