You’d think somewhere like london, but that would require two planes for them to have it on a set of flight numbers. Sydney just needs one.

Typically SQ launch SYD initially, presumably for that reason. But once they have three aircraft they can add LHR as well.

For anyone feeling nostalgic, here is someone’s video of the new A380 inaugural flight from Sydney back in late 2017 (damn how was that so long ago now). Plenty of nice images and footage captured, including a little celebration party at the gate as well as the captains announcements.

EDIT - Not sure if just for the inaugural flight or in general but the plating of the food in J just somehow looks better back then vs now.

If Sydney is lucky enough to be the inaugural destination again, will be interesting to look back and compare with this.

306 and 327 will definitely be LH product. 207/8 tend to be as well due to European connections.

Whilst you are all going gaa-gaa over new config just bear in mind what a disaster the last incarnation of R was / is - SQ had the chance to set a benchmark way above competitors yet delivered that abomination so the proof will be in the pudding

Low bar for business… *anything* would be better than the current 20c coin-sized footwell and sleeping on the diagonal with a tension seatbelt!
