A little frustrating coz somebody earlier in this thread said they were available to anyone on every flight - 6 tries and i still cannot get the 350 version

Is there any way of checking availability for a cabin upgrade (Y to J) on a paid ticket before you buy the ticket?
Flying BNE-SIN-DAD and the SIN-DAD flight is available for a business class redemption in the saver category. Does this mean that the flight will be available to upgrade for my paid ticket?
I would like to fly SIN-DAD in business class but if I can't upgrade from the paid ticket, I would just buy the BNE-SIN in Y and redeem the SIN-DAD in J.
However, it is the same price to fly BNE-SIN-DAD as BNE-SIN only - go figure.

The refreshment options between AUS and SIN seem to have greatly improved in the last few months. Not Sing carrot cake and porridge anymore!

Curious as to why the Bellini coughtail is only available prior to take-off...can anyone enlighten me?

Was doing some searching of *A awards and experimented with looking at what equipment AI was flying on the routes in question (MEL-/-CPH and CDG). For every date (a handful in Mar-Aug 2027), the SQ site errored out and sent me back to the home page after I clicked to view the seatmap. Anyway, this is just intended as a heads-up that it might be a pile of phantom availability or other issue. I'm not really into Air India...

The pulled pork roll on our recent BNE-SIN leg was ordinary- only saving grace was it was very hot when served

Ive got a flight in July 2027 in J ex Mel and one to Nagoya but that will likely be on a regional one

Have J tickets for myself and better half on SQ208 and SQ306 in May 2027 and then SQ327 and SQ207 in June 2027. All currently listed as long-haul model and seats 15D/15F. Let's see if I will be lucky on at least one of them

306 and 327 will definitely be LH product. 207/8 tend to be as well due to European connections.

In terms of the new product, I wonder if Sydney will be the first - which is often the case for new product, such as the a380. easy roundtrip with the same plane to guarantee the product.

Well, upon checking, Sydney has the A350 medium haul on its sole A350 flight pair SQ241 and SQ242 from November 2026 all the way through to end of March 2027. From April 2027, the A350 Long Haul is then scheduled back in - this does line up quite nicely with SQs indicative timeframe for the new cabin product, so this does look reasonably possible however not guaranteed until they announce.

However as others have speculated, I do (fortunately or unfortunately depending on what you booked), think that London with SQ306 is still a good chance for the first route. SQ went out of their way to put the A350LH on that route, which hasn’t seen the A350LH since Covid.

You’d think somewhere like london, but that would require two planes for them to have it on a set of flight numbers. Sydney just needs one.
