QR EK CX SQ and controversially BA are the top 5.If SQ is not top 3, what ranking is it now for you, which airlines are in front of SQ?

And presumably then, we’re only talking about carriers out of Australia. Although JL would have to be up there with their apex-seat flights. Actually… just about anyone except for Air New zealand would have better J seats out of Australia than SQ!QR EK CX SQ and controversially BA are the top 5.
Not necessairy, AF J is not bad, but BA seats are better especially in the upgraded aircraft of which there are now quite a fewAnd presumably then, we’re only talking about carriers out of Australia. The question from OP just asked for my top 5 not top 5 out of Oz!!Except AF doesn’t fly out of Australia.
Worldwide SQ would rank way down for J class seats!

Curious as to why? One obvious thought it’s that you’re very shortObviously YMMV, but I much prefer the SQ J seats to QF or EK seats.
Yes, as well as AY, BA and QF that I had already mentioned, I really liked the JL seat and I was surprised to like the AI seats (although I was fortunate to have no neighbour on both my longhaul flights - and this was the same seat TK and ET were using)). In the next tier down, I'd put CX, MH, QR, UL, AA. I suspect the SQ J seat wouldn't quite squeeze into that group. The truth is, their seat really isn't that good and they are being carried by both past reputation and excellent soft product.
If it were based on seats alone I’d put AY, BA and QF above SQ.

I am more than 180cmI wonder if all of you are tall (say 180cm+)?
I am only 172cm so for me SQ J Long Haul and Regional are fine for me. In fact, I find SQ Regional J to be better for sleeping than the long haul J. So for me, SQ is number 2 behind QR right now for overall J experience. CX is 3rd.
But I understand SQ J is hard to sleep if you are much taller.
Given SQ is catering for Asian markets maybe they don't see the need to cater for tall people who are minority?
I can't agree. It has significant markets outside of Asia.Given SQ is catering for Asian markets
I’m more than 190. I find the SQ regional seats easy to sleep in. The long hauls… nope.I wonder if all of you are tall (say 180cm+)?

I’m tall so the SQ seats just aren’t right. I even have to sleep on a slight diagonal in SQ’s 777 F![]()
The front bulkheads are not available to mere mortals even at check in. The bulkheads at the halfway point might be.Don’t know what the problem is with SQ J seats. They’re great.
Oh wait, maybe that’s because as I have Solitaire PPS privileges I almost always manage to get a bulkhead row. Makes a huge difference.
But oddly on the flight I had to LHR last week I was the only person occupying one of the 6 D/F bulkhead seats (that I understand are available at checkin if you ask).
They are! I’ve secured them plenty times! (as in row 11). Trick is to get them at 96 hours out.The front bulkheads are not available to mere mortals even at check in. The bulkheads at the halfway point might be.
I have tried at various points in the 96 hours and found them not available - and they fly out empty - while I have been able to secure the mid cabin bulkheads. They are! I’ve secured them plenty times! (as in row 11). Trick is to get them at 96 hours out.

Have to say had a mid cabin bulkhead on a regional plane last week and never again - 1 screaming baby next to me, another in Y a few rows back. WIll stick to front cabin going forward, even if it means missing out on bulkheadI have tried at various points in the 96 hours and found them not available - and they fly out empty - while I have been able to secure the mid cabin bulkheads.
