SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Arrived into TPR today at 17:05 to find myself on my lonesome - over an hour until another pax arrived. More to come.

Cruiser, is there a different menu in the TPR for lunch and dinner? I've only been there pre-SQ217 so all I've had is that delicious eggs benedict.

@infinity - me watch the 'bum sniffers'? Yeah right!

@mrsmart - breakfast from opening at 05:30 til 10:30 - until menu here:

@infinity - no French Red mate - I feel like my throat has been cut!

Thanks CE. Looks like I have to come by another time for some tastings. Any recommendations?
I recomend any and every item on both menus you desire - you can order anything you want - mix and match off either or both menus - order as many courses as you want.

Yesterday I started with Satay from A then Waldorf Salad from W then soup from W then Rosemary Roasted Lamb from Chef Station Specials Accom with Garden Salad from W - that saw me through - I find it best to just graze - order one course and savour it then 10-15 mins later proceed to next - dep on 227 at 21:20 with full dinner service is just too late to be eating - I'd rather get as much sleep as poss on o/n flts - doing dinner as I did in TPR you virtually replicate a full onboard dinner service but have it in the lounge - you may not get Krug but the 2002 PF Rare is an excellent alt.

Now here is some life changing information on a matter of which I was totally ignorant - whilst wandering SIN T3 yesterday I spotted this mascot being photographed with multiple multiple people holding 2 cards with Chinese characters on them - clearly some celebration of CNY:

I asked the young ladies accompanying the mascot who it was? Reply - it's a mascot. Yes I can see it's a mascot but what is it? Reply - it's an aeroplane. Yes I can see it's a mascot and I can see it's an aeroplane - but who is the mascot representing?

Oh this is Max. Max? Who is Max? Oh Max is the mascot for Changi Airport! There you go - I told you this was life changing - Changi had its own mascot Max.

A question - and no judging, we all have our little bucket lists, and one of the things on mine is a SQ bear.:D
I am in J from BNE - SIN, SIN-BKK, HAN-SIN, any chance any of these flights are likely to have the bear, or is it only ultra long haul flights that have them. Thanks
I'm hoping to get one (or two) to keep Eeyore company...
After FA made up bed last night I jokingly asked 'What no Teddy'? She asked would I prefer girl or boy teddy? Definitely girl teddy - she returned in 30secs with a grin from ear to ear as she handed me this:

Just ask if not supplied when bed made - crew will happily supply.

Had the lobster today and thoroughly enjoyed it.
There was sufficient quantity and not dry. Very good flavour

The other day we were doing some tidying up and came across our TPR invitations from our first suites experience a couple of years back. Cruiser has been right all along - a nice souvenir that brought back great memories.

Will have to get another one on our upcoming suites flight to Tokyo :D

Flew SQ830 last Wed Feb 3 on 380 with new PE on board - 1st time I had actually seen the product in the flesh:

As you can see 32 seats / 1 pax - and I have no idea if indeed she was comm pax. On this flt 6 in R / J 50% full - Y+ 1 pax / Y was really full.

Given SQ were one of the first airlines to have a Y+ cabin, and then got rid of it entirely, I thought the move to re-instate it was an interesting one.
