SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Yes please, sounds like I might be missing something. Usually I'm automatically assigned 11A/K but hav been given 19 when they were unavailable. My recollection was that they were identical so I'm interested in your side-by-side analysis.

Row 11 and 19 are identical.

Greetings!
Hoping this is the right thread for this question......
I am planning a trip from SYD to MAA in the next 3 weeks. I will book J for 168000 KF miles return.
I want to use my wife's points as they will expire at EOY but she only has 153577 KF miles in the warehouse. So I am 14423 miles short. She has no credit card in her name that will earn points so I am stumped as to how to get this amount of points into her KF account.
Any suggestions???
Cheers,
Mitch
Thanks for the advise MattA & Lux Lizard.
I have actually had a win! My wife & I have a joint Dragon Amplify Card. Usually I transfer the points to my KF account as I do most of the flying. So, I called St George Amplify Rewards and asked them to switch the account to send points to the wife's KF account. Which they did without a problem. I couldn't actually do this online as the KF number was "greyed out" and not changeable.
Transferred the points last night, arrived in KF today! So now I have enough points for the India trip to use before they expire! 😊👍

I had a chat with the MEL Station Manager this morn and this is what he informs me:
  1. From June 1 207/208 will recommence - check online for timings and ATPIT it will be another 350
  2. The Business Plan he can see in front of him still displays 1 x 777 + 3 x 350s right through to end of year
  3. Current loadings are in his words 'manic' so they are expecting metal changes as demand grows - they are already experiencing oversold flights
  4. SQ make no apology for using 350s wherever they could during Covid as they are the most economical to fly and cost cutting was paramount
  5. SQ MEL Station are well aware of discontent of pax for lack of F out of MEL and yes they know it results in pax heading to SYD to depart - they truly want to stop that trend
  6. Indeed the bounce back since border opening has kinda taken everybody by surprise so hopefully a return to previous p[osition re metal will be ASAP but he is not in a position ATPIT to give any definitive dates
  7. They are not expecting return of 380 to MEL at anytime in future - 'but who knows' were his words
I know that above still not very definitive but I hope helps a bit

thanks CE, useful as we hv been trying to nut out a UK/Euro trip in Sept. Hv decided to bin the planning for a few months because it’s indeed manic out there.

SQ website is tight-as for sched choice, often defaulting to Scoot flts on a F search, and those returns we can see have long Sin transits, to both Syd and Mel.

Star Alliance sched tool is even worse and second looks at the same route on *A tend to show fewer options - ie. one’s choices tighten with frequency of search ? Seems to be case of the more we encourage them the more difficult they become..

one of the Zurich axioms of investment say that when everyone of doing something, then do the opposite, so will wait to book SQ, hopefully enjoy our EK trip in May and look for some smoothing in SQ scheds late in the year.

Show us the storage space beside the window?

This is the storage to the side of 19K. Is there something like this in row 11? I didn’t notice it when I went up the front. Admittedly didn’t loiter around for too long as didn’t want to seem too weird to the PAX sitting there. :D

daft pls go take pic of storage area between window and TV a screen 11A or K pls

That storage on the side is the bassinet and you can bumped from the seat if needed.

Happened to me.
Here is seat map for this version:
Bassinet.JPG
Indeed 19A/K are the bassinet seats - 11A/K are not depicted as bassinet seats.

NoName's pic clearly shows the extra space window side of 19K - 19A has similar space.

And YES I prolly had a few ice creams onboard before I went to check layout of 11A/K but unless I have gone totally mad I am almost sure this extra space does not exist window side of 11A/K - I am almost certain TV screens are fitted plush into bulkhead - OR - maybe I had too many ice creams.

And as Comoman posted anytime you select a 'bassinet seat' and it is indeed required for a baby then you will be moved and so you should be so keep that in mind when you select them - has also happened to me multiple times.

A little different but when selecting a single seat in one of the double bed combo seats in new R / old R / 96D/F rear of 380 J cabin as solo pax you may well find ground staff asking if you would mind moving to another seat so a 'couple' can occupy these or indeed Crew asking the same when you are onboard.

Again this has happened to me multiple times - mainly 3C in old R - interesting that a couple of times the new occupants were just totally appreciative of me moving but on several occasions new occupants didn't even acknowledge it even though they well knew - we are all different huh?

I recently flew the 350R in 11K but did not take a pictures of this space.

Only this one showing small footwell for sleeping.

I stand ready to be corrected but I believe I did see the space the same as 19K. The TV was definitely not against the bulkhead so it makes sense it's the same seat as 19K, but not a bassenet seat. Hopefully we can see a photo sometime to answer definitely.

The regional business product is rubbish for people who are above average size (both waist and height). I am 6ft1 and it wasn't a very comfy flight - I felt kind of claustrophobic in my "cubical"

Avoid if possible (opt for 380/77/350 with the non regional product), but still better than travelling cattle.
