Can someone explain what the process for bears are?
E.g. first class only?
Certain flights?
Have to ask?
Different types?

Any F or R flight; I am not sure about J.
One should be presented when they make up your bed, or you can ask if not offered.
They change from time to time, but there is always a male and female one on each flight. I ask for one of each if I only get one.

Edit: I just checked and on my last flight I got an A350 branded female, and 787-10 male.

Nice, I'll keep that in mind. I love to collect so definjtely its the start of a collection
Just googled, and there seems to be heaps of different colours, I've already counted 5 .

And a fair few different designs

Never got any in suites. Neither leg
Asked in J and was given them. Next trip traveled in J with my 10mo son and he was given them by the hosties

Wife asked and received 2 in R ex Syd.
We didn’t receive, or ask, in R ex SIN.
One for each daughter was enough, apparently

Managed to collect 6 of them in total for NoName Jnr when on SQ26 last year. He loves them. Mrs NoName not so much, which of course has made me determined to stock up on them further next time we fly.

Same. My wife and I had to ask in Suites, we had them offered when travelling with our kids in J.

Mama mia MN - that is spectacular post - just AMAZING!!!
Haha thanks mate - just had to share positive experience received from the hands of the brilliant crew on board that flight. The wedding was pretty stressful with lots of moving parts of course so was counting on this particular flight to kickstart the honeymoon celebrations on the right foot, boy did it not disappoint!
Unfortunately it was back to Y for the SIN-MLE leg, but we managed. The main longer flight was in Suites!
Talk about being spoilt at 40000ft
Indeed! Spoilt is an understatement!
Nice photos, I like how you managed to get your watch in the shot also, just like your profile pic.
I see you have a photo with some bears, were they a gift from SIA? I wasn't offered any.
Haha thanks, I just had to get the watch in there, makes it all the more legitimate ;)
They offered it to us, we didn't have to ask at all! Maybe due to this being our honeymoon flight?
Mmm vada..in TPR?

The teddies, sometimes they appear sometimes you have to ask for them. :)
Yup, I must admit it's the first time I've had vada (they call it Wadai on the TPR menu) in a 'fine-dining' situation, as my usual vada adventures happen at darshinis in BLR ;)

Too easy.

Flew SQ218 in Suites for my wife's and my initial honeymoon flight (final destination MLE so no F/R there), and of course used arrivals access at TPR to get some brekky and have a shower and just relax and chill before our onwards flight to MLE.

I don't think I need to explain myself here - pictures say a thousand words, I'll just let the following pics say what needs to be said: TPR is amazing, SQ Suites is heaven and there's not enough flying I can do to fully appreciate its awesomeness:

what on earth are those donut looking things? and teh orange/yellow stuff in teh back, is the stuff in the bowl, curry???

for those that have never done F , my relatives have a F coming up, they are the sort of people who are conservative and shy, they feel bad asking for paid soft drink to teh cabin staff! Ive been telling them that its F, they should be at your beckoning, is there any other stuff that my relatives should be expecting/asking/requesting?

wrt Mathnerds honey moon, to get all that special treatment, do you have to book it? or just say "its my honeymoon, SPOIL ME!"

If you want a special cake for an occasion you will need to request in advance. Otherwise the crew will rustle up something on board from what they have - but that will be somewhat limited than if ground ops can prepare.

Any amenities due to them on the flight will be proactively offered. PJs, amenity kits. When they are ready for a snooze just ask the crew to set up the bed. Everything else should be pretty intuitive. The crew will come round and ask for drink orders. And same for food. If they want something outside of a meal time they may need to press the call bell.

If they feel comfortable doing so, they can tell the crew it is their first time in SQ F. The crew will make sure they know how everything works (like IFE and stuff) and where all the controls for the seat are (etc).

South Indian food.
Vada (food) - Wikipedia
With coconut chutney and the liquid is a veg curry called Sambar.

Usually $5 in little India so surprised (in a positive way) to see it in TPR
nice, learnt something new,
coincindetally, recently got a new indian friend and just started to learn the differences between north and south indian from culture, people, food

Yeah completely! English is usually the common language.

Before the baby ninja came along, we use to get 2 teddys, mostly requested (in J and F). Nowadays when we have baby ninja fly with us, we get given 1 teddy without request. Might have to ask next time for the opposite sex teddy

Exactly - they are indeed designed for kids - but as we all know so many of us just never grow up.

Arriving on SQ335 and departing SQ221 we are traveling suites for both flights. Planning on freshening up in the TPR before heading out to enjoy Singapore for the day... does the TPR have facilities to store hand luggage whilst we're out and about?

No I don't believe they will accept luggage store.

There is a Left luggage room at the other end of the terminal, but there are restrictions, i.e. you technically can't leave laptops and other randoms stuff. Sometimes they will fully check bags and compartments, sometimes they just want to glance over it.I think the rule came into effect in the last couple years?

It is quite annoying having to lug a laptop while you go out to city during transit, lucky we had a pram, but still annoying.

If you do leave your Luggage at the left luggage it will not be possible to use the special first check in area when you come back after your day out..
At least I couldn't see a way so I took my one bag with me

If holding a BP and plan going back to the TPR for a shower what’s the need for this F check in area. I’ve never actually seen it or used it.
