We are currently in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe about to head to Botswana for a safari trip with a missing bag 😔. The trip was for my partner's 40th celebration but so far it did not start well...

Flew MEL-SIN(SQ, Y), SIN-ADD(ET, J) & ADD-VFA(ET,J) on a Lifemiles ticket 3 days ago and my partner's luggage did not turn up at VFA. Mine turned up fine.

We filed a report with the airport staff(they were not helpful) and was told luggage may come the next day. Nothing came. Called ET. They were surprisingly helpful and lodged another report with all details. They notified us that my partner's bag was not scanned at SIN and couldn't find it anywhere on their system.

I am so angry at myself for not putting in AirTag inside our bags thinking that SQ Krisflyer app tracking function was sufficient. On the app, it said that my bag was loaded at X time to SQ208 on the 22SEP23 but my partner's bag had a message ' could not find information'. I have a sneaky suspicion that my partner's bag was never loaded to the aircraft. I couldn't lodge delayed bag report with SQ due to the final leg being with ET. Call an agent, was told that they couldn't help. Emailed Swissport's email address for MEL on SQ's website but no reply so far.

Anyone has a better contact for SQ that is helpful?

@seritonin
Do you have the bag tag for the missing bag?

So just to be clear, it was loaded in MEL and arrived in SIN?

Swissport would be the contact in MEL
In Singapore, call their lost and found office:

Yes, I have the bag tag for the missing bag. Both bags were checked in at MEL connecting all the way to VFA. Mine arrived at VFA but my partner's didn't.

"were loaded" as in the bag tracking said it was loaded onto aircraft in MEL? but not loaded onto aircraft in SIN?

Could it still be in MEL I wonder?

At this point there is nothing much you can do, except getting someone in AU to keep trying for you.
Replacing the contents of the luggage will be the main focus...

Sorry, both were checked in at MEL. On the app, mine said loaded onto the aircraft at MEL. No information about loaded at SIN since it wasn't SQ any more I guess.

Yes, not much we can do at this point and we are managing with new clothing purchases. There are a few irreplaceable sentimental items in the luggage he wants back but I'm not hopeful we will get it back...

It will likely turn up! IIRC there’s not that many bags that go permanently missing!

But a good note for me… in future I might put some emergency clothing in each other’s bags when we fly!

Changi Airport also have ability to track bags on their app, but I assume it is driven off the same data source as SQ bag tracking.

Sorry to hear about this. As someone who has done a few safaris in Botswana myself, I can well understand the frustration of not having your luggage with you.

I’ve sent you a private message. Hope this helps.
