I guess no drinks saves on FA touching every single pax and then passing onto next pax? No different to meals but its one less contact I guess.

I know Changi encourages you to refill your water bottles at the bubblers - I guess we should antiseptic wipe the water fountain as well.

Ive always travelled with wipes - just going to carry a bigger pack of them now. Hubby even wipinig down the keyboard at piano lessons now.

I’m only now just starting to get a bit concerned. QF adv me of a CX HKG timing change. I may say that means I need to cancel as I’m still holding a DRW back up.

Yep our flights still unaffected. However, now wondering if it's smart to travel, and what the cost of postponing would be. Up until now, I've been confident that we wouldn't be much at risk. The issue is not so much whether WE get sick; I don't want to be stuck in lockdown somewhere because a small group of OTHER people got sick (like what's happening in Italy).

Our trip to Europe (mainly Spain, few days in Paris and couple day stopover in SIN) is from mid April to mid May and I have only booked award flights to\from CDG. The only accomodation booked is for an overnighter at CDG and now I'm probably going to delay booking accom to see what unfolds in the next few weeks, especially Spain.

I thought moving to the still operating same day alternative A380 flight from Sydney would be simple without much back and forth. So far it seems I was wrong.

I had really hoped things would be going back to normal by end Feb...its just seems to be getting worse.. baah

What is back to normal?

If you assume that this is essentially a flu like virus (but with a longer infectious period), the new normal is a world with Covid19. Just like it is a world with the seasonal flu.

Eventually it will become widespread enough that it will just be accepted that is out and about.

In the meantime containment is slowing it down, but sooner or later it will most likely change managing it, as it will just be too widespread. The warmer months may see it die off, but it could equally re-emerge in the colder month and Australia is not far from that period.

That is not to say that people who are symptomatic should not fly. But it does make one wonder why those with the flu (a proven killer) have had little in the way of preventing them to fly, be in the workplace etc.

On the optimistic side the measures (both by individuals as well as by authorities) being rolled out due to Covid19 may lead to a reduction in those dying, or being hospitalised, from the catching flu.

Because people are aholes.

I had someone sent home twice in 2 days last year. He literally stood over my cubicle buddy and said, "Ill try not to cough on you as I have the flu"

I slammed my pen down, stood and walked into his managers office and he was sent home BUT returned the next day and told someone else he "still had the flu". And repeat my hissy fit and he got sent home.

Its presenteeism. To be seen, as the ad says, to be "soldiering on". Theres no reason for it, especially in our office as we can all do our jobs at home or anywhere in the world (which Ive proven) so no reason for anyone to come in sick. We're office workers, not surgeons.

Ours are not cancelled yet but Im expecting when they announce April, my flights will be in that batch

If/when they do cancel my flight, theres one leaving about 8hrs later later so hopefully theres a plan B, or T at this stage.

Just a rough finger in the air guess, you know round about, seems you might get miffed at this behaviour ;)😂

Off topic but....

Totally agree. If you are sick - stay home idiot.

The culture change to self isolation is not helped by stupid TV ads like Codral - Soldier On! 🤬

I'm still Ok, but waiting to see if SIN flights banned from FRA to JFK.

I was booked Departing Perth on 31/5 and return 5/6. The 1st flight has now been cancelled and it's only a matter of time I think before the 2nd one is cancelled. It was for a holiday so can easily reschedule. It was booked with KF miles? If I cancel now does anyone know if I'll get back all surcharges and points or do I need to wait for both flights to be cancelled?

It will be interesting to see when they notify me about the cancellation. I can see this being difficult , it’s a kris flyer redemption from ADL- TUNIS with Turkish airlines half of the journey

I feel like the thread title needs to be updated to include Mar and April. Luckily, I'm still not affected. :)

Flights canned both sides of our 4 dates for SYD to LON, but at this stage ours are still confirmed.

Singapore website have updated Govt retrictions: "From 2359hrs on 4 March 2020, all new visitors with recent travel history to Iran, northern Italy or the Republic of Korea within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter into or transit through Singapore. "

I notice that you are now unable to book any direct flights to/from Milan on the website. My redemption booking to Milan in May is still listed unchanged, but a dummy paid test booking only shows via Fra or Muc.

Update:
I had a booking ADL-SIN-BKK-IST-TUN. KrisFlyer redemption.
Adelaide to Singapore leg cancelled. (According to latest update on website)
Manage my booking still showed confirmed.
Three days of ringing and being on hold for a over a hour and giving up I finally got through today after only 40min.
Lady on the phone confirmed my flight was to Singapore was still operational as it was showing confirmed. I explained to her that their website shows it cancelled. Nothing to worry about she says ! I pushed her to double check with a supervisor and she obliged. After 2 minutes, yes sir your flight is cancelled I’ll look at some options.
The best we could do-
ADL-SIN-BKK , the day before and fly out the next day on our original itinerary BKK-IST-TUN for the rest of our journey.
