SQ refurbishing KrisFlyer Gold lounge in SIN

I was in the SQ Gold lounge last week. It's shared with the Mahraba lounge - well, it basically IS the Mahraba lounge with an additional entrance really. I think it's pretty good hold-over until the new lounge, certainly many times better than the old SQ Gold which was dire. Reasonable bain-marie selections, beer fridge and some spirits, seating with power points etc. I wouldn't want to spend 3 hours there but I think it's ok.

One new experience: getting a buzzer unit to advise you of when a toilet becomes available. Yes, toilet space is limited.

Is there a separate area for SQ vs. Marhaba customers? Or literally multiple entrances feeding into the same one area. I read a quote from SQ pre-switch-over saying there would be a dedicated area, but not sure if that's actually eventuated.

Sounds like it'll be crowded, but could work in my favour though. Flying SQ in a couple of weeks and have access +1 guest with VA gold, but I'm travelling with a second guest. Originally thought we'd give it a miss, but if I can combine my priority pass to get one guest in through Mahraba, then walk next door to the SQ entrance and guest in the 2nd guest, could work out :)

Not that I could discern no. Past the SQ reception (which is really just a small desk adjacent to the entrance) you open out into a lounge. A corridor with all the food/bev links over to the ‘front’ lounge of the Mahraba. I don’t think it matters where you sit, but it likely does matter which entrance you use.

Ausbt is right. No separate SQ area. I entered via the SQ reception and wandered down to the end away from the food area, saw the notice re password for wi-fi and found that was available from the Mahraba desk.

Now that the refurb of the Gold lounge is underway, does anyone have an update of the project timeline? When TPR/F lounge will close for refub, when it will relaunch, will there be a temporary TPR/F lounge? (do you detect the panic in my message? ;))

Flying R SYD-SIN and J SIN-LAX in March.

I used this lounge on Wednesday night whilst waiting for my SQ flight with a Dragonair Pass. I was told it was nearly full upon arrival at the Marhaba lounge but my friend and I managed to get seats at a table, which was more comfortable considering we were going to be there for 3 hours or so and would be eating and using our tablets. The food was reasonable (satays, dumplings, pasta dish, soup, etc), and the drinks were in plentiful supply. They have toilets within the facility, but I did not use them. And there were two entrances into the lounge too.

Any sense of where F passengers will be redirected when they refurbish TPR and F lounge?

As posted earlier renos currently underway of previous *G Lounge which will become new temp home for TPR / SKL F - unless that has all changed in last couple weeks.

Spent about two hours in the Marhaba (or however you spell it) lounge this evening - it's been 80-90% full the whole time from 5pm to 7pm . As others have said, the food is reasonable - few more choices than the old arrangement. The check-in desk at the SQ entrance is super temporary - they didn't even have a proper barcode scanner for boarding passes, with the "lounge dragon" having to scan via some kind of smart-phone arrangement. I am travelling as VA Platinum and I still find it frustrating that VA can't let Platinum access a higher level of lounge compared to Gold, but so be it.

I’m in that lounge now. Early (6.30 am) but the crowd is growing. Excellent food offerings until Tokyo flight is called 😏

Haven't heard any new information about the SQ First and Private Room refurbishments.

As I have my first trip in SQ F in February, I'm anxious to learn if they'll be completed by my flight, though I'm not getting my hopes up with how close to the chest they're keeping the announcements.

There is another thread on this already on AFF but can't remember the name sorry.
I think the answer to your question is no.

In TPR now - no progress yet has been made at all it appears.

Staff also suffering from sundayitis and quite slack this morning which is very disappointing.
