SQ reduced fuel surcharges

SQ have announced reductions in fuel surcharges effective for tickets issued from 26 Feb.



Key points for Australian based travellers: AU-Europe .. $600 AUD return ($765 at the moment), AU-SIN ... $268 ($337)

You would imagine so, fuel surcharge is fuel surcharge isn't it. They current charge the same for reward tickets as paid.

Those are some really good savings - hopefully it will mean much cheaper taxes+fees for award bookings as well

It won't mean cheaper taxes for award bookings, they are set by governments and airports. But it will definitely mean cheaper fees/surcharges on award bookings as fuel surcharges are usually the only extra fees you pay on award bookings, over and above the genuine taxes and airport charges.

Just my luck - I recently booked 2 x J award bookings SIN-BNE for June. I pondered if fuel surcharges would drop, but didn't want to risk losing the Saver Award.

Having said that, I had a look and my preferred flight is now on Waitlist for a Saver, so I guess I won!
