SQ > LH on Separate Tickets - Luggage check through from Syd?

Hi there,
Have an SQ rewards ticket in F SYD-SIN-FRA, then on a separate paid J ticket FRA-TXL on LH.

The SQ call centre has told me that because they're separate tickets, they won't be able to check my bags all the way through from SYD.

Is this right? QF only a few weeks ago checked my luggage all the way through on a separately ticketed CX flight, which was actually a CX Asia Miles redemption flight.

I've had bags checked through on different bookings. It comes down to the skills of the check-in agent. You will need your e-ticket for your onward journey.

I think there is also a step when you go to check-in on your LH journey when they need to enter your baggage details onto your check-in details.
