May have to travel to SIN J class on an A330-300 (Bne-SIN) and then with Silk Air into China on an A320.
Wondering what the J seating is like on both flights as traditionally have flown Cathay and Dragon Air. Do both have flat beds or is the a difference between the SQ and Silk Air seat setups.

Cheers

I don't know what the A330 is like but I flew SilkAir to Yangon last year in an A320 and my best comparison would be trans-Tasman J. Certainly not flat bed or even close.

The A330 is an angled lie flat product. It doesn't go horizontal, but it gets pretty close, and I've had reasonable sleeps on it (or nearly identical product on refitted 777's). It's reasonably wide as well, and is comfortable to sit in. Silkair's A320 seat is best compared to a standard domestic business class seat, don't expect to sleep but it's Ok for a few hours to sit in.

the J seats on the 333 are the same ones used on the VA C2C services. once lie flat, it gives the wedgie feel, and i find it hard to get out of the seat without doing any contortions. the J seats on the MI 320s are almost identical to old style QF J seats, but depending on the aircraft it might have been reupholstered in leather.
