What should we do for 6 hours between our connecting flights at Changi airport in Singapore from 3.30 am?Fortunately I do have J lounge access but am I missing something?

When I have had similar and what to be assured of a good sleep, I have checked into the air-side hotel and grabbed 40winks.

Whilst you can grab a nap in the SilverKris Lounge it is on a couch and in the open.

When flying back from Milan recently arriving from memory at about 5 am..I thought I would grab a quick nap of a couple of hours only to be woken twice:
* once by staff to give me a pillow!!! I was asleep!!!
* secondly to know what flight I was on. I had an alarm!!!

Net result was that I got virtually no sleep.

Singaporeans are notorious for being like this. they woke me once for breakfast when i was soundly asleep.

Are there rooms in F lounge for sleeping? (in SIN)

sneek into the F lounge, they do have sleeping pods i believe. Go into town get some chilli crab and a gutful of tiger beer - somewhere must be open!!!

terrible time for all this.

Sounds like I need to sticky tape a note on my forehead if I settle down in the J lounge. This flight is a plane switch from an A340 landing at 6.30 am to an A380 landing at 3.30 am.Not being a big one for a gallon of beer and chili crab leading onto the final flight to Perth it sure looks like a shower,a rest,a walk,a snooze,a play on the internet and a feed in the J lounge.I have almost zero SQ status but I have mobs and mobs of Kris points so I don't think I can get into the First lounge as I am using J Standard points on LAX-SIN-PER flights.

With an ~9:30am departure there's precious little time to go elsewhere (need to depart the lounge for the gate soon after 8:30am).

I'd suggest spending ½ hour or more checking out the SIN duty Free. For most popular OZ booze and cigarattes the prices are good; certainly better than on arrival into Oz.

Ok I had better add shopping but a lot will be closed I would think.

Depends on your personality type ... travelling on SQ, there is really no need to leave the lounge to head to the gate until about 20-25 mins from the flight, depending how far the gate is and how fast one walks. ( I usually don't even arrive at the airport until about 1 hr before departure, and still manage 30 mins in the lounge). The gates close "strictly 10 mins before departure", and that also means they actually stay open until 10 mins before departure, never had an issue of them wanting to get away early. Having said that it doesn't hurt to board early if travelling in J! Different matter in Y!
