Can be booked as one-way from Japan to Australia for $1,750 AUD.

Books into D at 125% for most carriers (inc Virgin) and 200% for Alaskan!

If making a round trip out of this, I’d use 40K AA miles to redeem in Business with JAL as the outbound leg from Australia. And if you’re feeling lucky, why not try Qantas.

I actually booked this last night; NRT with a 4 day stopover in SIN onto BNE. Actually came out at $1722 with the currency conversion for the day. Was valid over chinese new year so was great value (got $268 BNE-KIX tix on JQ on the way over - won't that be a contrast!).

But oh hadn't considered the Alaskan proposition! I haven't started collecting those yet, just had my SQ number in .... hmmmmmm.

Just be wary that AS miles are becoming harder and harder to use. There have been many issues about finding SQ/CX/JL award availability online, let alone the sparsity of QF/AA award seats.

I'm sitting on 350k AS miles and struggling to find decent redemptions like the good old days.

Damn 1600 one way from Japan and 2600 return. Thats price territory of QF Y sometimes. Screenshot_20230915-083506.png
