Hi Folks,
Just got back form a Europe jaunt with the family in SQ J.
SQ flights were sadly not the greatest I've ever experienced.
New A380 J seats are pretty impractical - multiple false calls to attendants.

But, to my questions.
Flew on SQ335 out of Paris (10:50am departure)
Then SQ231 out of SIN bound for SYD (00:45 departure)

No amenity kits on either flight (although we got them on both for the outbound legs)

Is this now the norm for these flights?
Regards,
Peter

IIRC, SQ J never get amenity kits. However all amenities are available in the bathrooms if you wish to use (toothbrush, comb, shaver etc). Only F gets amenity kits which usually contain face, hand and lip cream plus perfume/aftershave.

Occasionally there are promo mini kits available in J but as a standard no amenity kits. Outbound you were in J also pgs?

If you were in J post some pics of the kits you rcvd.

I returned only last night from PVG in J - PVG-SIN on new 380 J - yep seat has many shortcomings and this my only second exp in this cabin - learnt a lot more than I did first trip - yep the continual 'false alarm' calls for Crew Members are a right royal PITA to bot pax and crew. - I will post more in SQ T T $ T thread if I get time. But no amenity kits on either the PVG-SIN or SIN-MEL J sectors.

Hi again,
I've attached the first of the kits we got on 232 out of Sydney (I may have these the wrong way around. Mrs Diver is a keen and committed "re-packer").
I offered feedback to SQ that it was nice to see them innovating with different types of things in the amenities kits. We found the laundry bar good for washing our "smalls" and fabric freshener useful for the hiking boots we all wore for 3 weeks straight.
Contents:
Clear liquids zip-lock bag
Crease Release (replaced with Fabric Freshener on the 2nd leg to Copenhagen)
Laundry Bar - replaced (I think) with Hand sanitiser on the CPH leg
Lip Balm
Hand Cream
Picture attached.
I'll show the 2 replacement items in a subsequent post
Rgds,
Peter

The 2 substituted items from the 2nd kit we received.

My partner received them (as depicted in post #6) during op-ups on SIN-HKG, HKG-SIN

But I thought they were long gone and haven’t heard of them for months.
I thought they were a one off special for the 70th anniversary but they brought them back again for a short period last year. I thought it sounded like they were going to make them permanent, but obviously not!

I honestly thought they were a gonna MEL - I did 833/207 Nov 8 and 833/217 Jan 12 in J and not a sign of them.

As per this trip report the amenity kits were offered SIN-PVG on 29 December. So maybe finished in 2018?

Scroll down about 1/4 of the way, before takeoff shots of the seat and the amenity kit and contents are shown:
Shanghai New Year with SQ New A380 Business and Suites - Airliners.net

(and after takeoff some photos of the teddy bears... someone reported those were not available on one of their flights, but seems they might be back)

SQ Teddies are part of SQ standard fare - they may not be available on a particular flt for a number of reasons - indeed I brought home 9 in total from last weeks 4 sectors. I will try to find out today exact status of these J amenity kits availability
